Obscure cartoons you forgot you liked

Probably a bit more "modern" than most stuff mentioned so far, (I don't remember it being on Sat or Sun mornings) but Ducktales was cool. I remember watching "The movie at night when it first came out.

Captain N and the Gamemasters...

Well, the title was something like that.

I *loved* that cartoon. Mainly because it was extremely mild satire on all the games I grew up with.

---------------

Also, the Mario Brothers cartoon show (which was terrible) but that was replaced on Fridays by the Legend of Zelda cartoons!

Despite being (supposedly) a mature adult these days, I have all of the Zelda cartoons on my computer. Gotta love Kazaa.

You were very, very close with the title. It's Captain N: The Game Master. When it went into synidication, it was re-titled 'Captain N and the Video Game Masters'. There's some useless trivia and history regarding Captain N and the Super Mario cartoons here.

I've also downloaded a few old Zelda cartoons off of Kazaa, as well. Great nostalgic stuff. There a few episodes of Captain N that took place in Hyrule, too, and Link and Zelda are voiced by the same actors (from the 'Friday' Zeldas).

gargoyles was my fav show but that spin off thing justed susked and that old conan cartoon was okay to but there was this old anime cartoon about theys five kids with magic armour who fought theys other evil guys with magic armour it was cool doen't remember the name thow

Since others have mentioned some of my favorites, such as Thundarr, Thundercats, and the Space Ghost family of series, I'll add a few which were missed:

Transformers. I don't believe anyone's mentioned this one, yet.

Go-Bots

Inhumanoids.

Robotix.

Big Foot and The Muscle Machines (how many forgot this one?). :)

Tigersharks.

And here's one that's been bugging me for years that someone here might be able to remember the title of. On USA Network, during the '80's, there was a cartoon with a jungle girl with a white panther (I think). I'm pretty sure it was set in South America, not Africa. Her name was something like Jana or Shanna.

Any help?

And, while it wasn't a cartoon, I lived for You Can't Do That On Television. I would get home from school just in time to watch it.

It freaked me out recently when I learned that Christine, aka "Moose", was in her twenties when I was a kid and watching it. I had such a crush on her. :)

Herculoids were great. I remember watching them and..hm...Frankenstein Junior? Something like that.

I grew up watching G-Force. One of the first anime I grabbed the Japanese release from was Super Science Ninja Force Gatchaman. I can still remember the shock as I realized the good guys were trying to kill people It was nver like that in the old shows!:)

It's not animated, but was I the only one watching Jason of Star Command saturday mornings?:)

I know what you are talking about. She had a huge necklace that she threw and cut stuff. I have no idea what the name was. Shenna Queen of the jungle of something like that.

That would be Jana of the Jungle. Another fairly cool show.

It's nice to finally see some people who remember it. I swear, I've mentioned this to a bunch of people who had no idea what I was talking about.

I'm now off to Google "Jana Of The Jungle" and see what I can come up with. :)

I always liked the vehicle version of Voltron better than the one with the lions. Call me a kook.

I also remember the Herculoids and Space Ghost with great fondness. And Challenge of the Superfriends - not the one with the Wonder Twins, and not the one with the two dopey kids and the dog. The one with the Legion of Doom. That was a great show for its era - in some ways still unsurpassed by some of the excellent superhero cartoons we have had in recent years.

I didn't really like G. I. Joe, except for the orginal movie that usually got broadcast as a week's worth of episodes. That was actually pretty cool.

Star Blazers was my cartoon love as a kid, though - and it holds up just as well today.
