Obsidian Giants are one of seven giant races native to the oriental continent of Rhiran (the other being: Bamboo, Highland, Jade, Lowland, the Ogre Mage, and the Wang Liang.)
Obsidian Giants resemble imense humanoids with skin the color of charred obsidian, their eyes are red, and they lack hair, except for a long and thin grey beard in the males.
Obsidian Giants have been known to reach an age of 800 years.

Combat:
Obsidian Giants are master combatants, using their Ki shout early and often to strike fear into their opponents hearts. They use their spell-like abilities to make themselves even more fearsome and to weaken and hurt those who are unaffected by their Ki-Shout. If at all possible, they enjoy setting up ambushes and pitfalls to wear down their opponents even more.
Spell-Like Abilities: At will - Doom, Entropic Shield, Ghost Light, and Pass Without Trace; 3/day - Ancestral Vengance, Animate Dead, Apparition, Circle of Flame, Cure Critical Wounds, Dispel Magic, Haste, Hold Person, Know the Shadows, Levitate, Mental Weakness, and Produce Flame; 1/day - Earthquake, Heal, Horrid Wilting, Internal Fire, and True Seeing; These are as cast by a 20th level shugenja, save DC 14 plus spell level.
Jade Vulnerability (Ex): Jade weapons ignor the obsidian giants damage reduction, and the giant takes double damage from such weapons.
Skills: Obsidian Giants recieve skillpoints as if they where large creatures.

Obsidian Giant Society:
Obsidian Giants are xenophobic to the extreme, attacking and killing other sentient races on sight unless those creatures are in superior numbers. Fortunatly these imense giants are also very reclusive, settleing in swamps, mountain valleys, and caves deep beneath the earth. They sustain themselves on hunting and growing crops, they're also very fond of rice.

Obsidian Giant Characters:
Obsidian Giants favored class is shugenja, and most Obsidian Giant leaders are either shugenjas or samurai/shugenjas. Obsidian Giant Shamans favor the following domains: Ancestor, Flame, Knowledge, Metal, River, Stone, War, and Wood. But are by no means limited to those choices.
An Obsidian Giants ECL is: +25

Later,

Edit: Fixed the CR.

Ferret: You really need to look properly through your monster manual.

The 'irative' is due to the giant using weapons, if it for example had been a dragon with +15 base attack bonus, it would have been: Bite +15, 2 claws +10, 2 wings +10, tailslap +10. It's the same with all creatures that use manufactured weapons, if the base attack bonus is greater than +5 the creature gains additional attacks with the weapon.

And if you wonder how I got the +15 base attack bonus: Giants have the same attack bonus progression as the cleric (3/4 per HD), The Obsidian Giant has 20 HD. 20 x 3/4 = 15.
+15 base attack with a weapon gets 3 attacks with the weapon. Same as with a 15th level fighter.

Hope this helps.

Sorry, My mind blanked out with the weapons. I'm pretty keyed into the correction bussiness, and doing it right. Do you go to the offical monster manual boards? Yikes!

On a daily basis, although I very rarely post anything on the WotC boards. I have noticed that some of the people there cannot stand when you correct them, I have seen more than one flame war errupt over such a trivial thing as wether or not a druid can get domains. (The answer is: Yes, druids can gain domains with the proper prestige classes and the Extra Domain feat from the Epic level handbook, as long as they fullfill the prerequisites for the prestige classes or the feat. And only a druid of 45th level can qualify for the feat.)

I think the CR is a little high. AC 23 is nothing at that level. The SR 28 is a small hindrence. The DR is small as well. Even the attack bonus seems a little low for a CR 21 creature.

Nice job Krish ;) . I like the jade giant more, but excellent job none-the-less. I agree with Crothian in that the CR seems a little high. Maybe a CR 18 or something?

Yea, it can get pretty bad sometimes over at the WotC boards. Not everyone is so...protective (I guess that's the word I'm looking for) of their creations though. I try to help out people when I can, and so far I've not been flamed...not yet :D .

Crothian and Magus: You are both correct about the DR and SR of the creature, and I will conseed that the creatures CR is a little high, and I will reduce it. But have you taken a good long look at it's spell-like abilities? it's got some pretty nasty spells on there. But alase, the CR will be reduced to 19.
