Since the other poll isn't accurate enough I figured I would create another one.

This poll is about allowing 3PP or Fan made/DMsGuild in your games. This doesn't count using a 3PP setting or your homebrew because you can use any setting and still stay with in official Wizards material. Changed magic items and monster do not count because they are with in the rules of the core game under the DMG and MM.

So... you want to know how many people allow players to use 3PP options vs just DM options?

Not really. I know what the other poll was trying to imply and was worded in a way that wasn't accurate. A DM who creates a whole alternate system isn't part of this poll. Custom magic items and custom monster are not included because there are rules for creating custom items and monsters.

This about allowing non D&D mechanical options in your games and do you, as a DM, introduce them into your own games.

If anything wasn't "accurate enough" it would be your statement that inspired the prior thread, since the words you used in that statement did not state explicitly, or even imply, that using a published 3rd party setting, or home-brewed material didn't "count."

There are rules for custom races and classes in the DMG too. And examples, unlike magic items.

I'll allow things on a case-by-case basis, and I'll try to work with my players to accommodate them.

I allow a very small amount of homebrew material, generally created by me to fit the current campaign. I might, in theory, allow other third-party material, but I won't allow anything I don't personally own, and I don't currently own any 5e player-side third-party material. So it's a de facto ban, rather than a principled one.

I think the big problem with both poll is the oversimplification of the question.

I prefer official material, for any game, because i trust a companies and game designers to know how to make stuff for their game little bit more than someone on the DMsG, or any website. If it doesn't exist, necessarily I'll go to 3PPs, or older material, for fluff. There are big 3PP names, which almost count as official in my mind, because they're proven trustworthy. There are also communities and ezines and persons like that.
