Ohio GameDay IV planning

Yes, yes I am. But that's beside the point.

By the way, ShayShay, thanks for the legwork down Columbus way. Let us know if something pans out.

By the way, the Gamedays I have made it to were loads of fun. If we get this one going and off the ground properly, what say you to doing it more often than, say, once every year? Maybe one per season (with no summer get together because, well, Origins and GenCon fill that gap well enough, thank you)?

Not a problem at all! I would really like to see this happen. Rooms are not cheap though. So far the best deal I have gotten is from Blue Moon Event Center but it is sitting at 500 bucks. That is a Saturday rental from 8 am to midnight, however. If we could only get some corporate sponsorship!

Some people have said they would pay to cover a room, I guess my question is, can we get fifty people at ten bucks a head? I would not mind advertising at the two or three FLGS's and at OSU, but do we think we could get that many? Or is this an insane idea to spend that much to game?

That said I would have no problem covering more than ten bucks, and I am sure there are a couple others here who wouldn't, but it can't be anything outrageous.

What do you think?

JACKPOT :) :) :)

The Holiday Inn Express in Grove City (directly off 71 just south of 70) will house us in a meeting room that can hold about 25 people for 160 dollars for the whole day!

Huzzah! A reasonable rate! If we can get 10-12 people we should be able to cover the costs easily. The more people (up to 25-30), the cheaper it will be!

What do you guys think? I am going to check the facility out after work tonight if possible.

Later,
Shay

Nice. This would seem very doable. Money is no object! (As long as it's $15 or less)

I'm in for anywhere within ~2.5 hour drive of Cleveland. So Columbus is OK, Grove City is OK, Cincinnati area is not good.

that's why we are trying for the Columbus area since we might have people coming from all over the state, its most central especially with the freeways as they are.
