D&D 5E [OOC] A Light Hearted Princes of Elemental Evil Hack and Slash

Well stable and up are two different things. Stable is no more death saves.
Up is [roll0] hours without magical healing. :)
Tolan does have a potion of healing on him, if it comes to that.
But if he were awake he would suggest that discretion is the better part of valor.

Dent has used every ounce of his healing until he rests. All he can do right now is make the Wisdom (Medicine) DC 10 checks he just made in the IC to stabilize Tolan and Damien.

Hah. You are right. I'll let the players solve how they all (except Carradoc in the first round of this, who took down Qarbo) react within the time constraints to stabilize or heal Tolan and Damien.

The sandbox has definitely been interesting. I think my only issue, and it really has more to do with perception than anything, is that the nature of taking a "wrong turn" in the sandbox creates a different play-style than typical. Have we had any combats that were back to back without a rest of some type? I can't recall any. It changes the resource management dynamic quite a bit.

It seems we've broken combat, but we still have whatever/whoever roared downstairs.
Dent will vote we shutter this place and get the hell out of dodge. No need to go confront the scary beastie down in the pit; it can't get to us (eep) and it's a seeming hassle to get down to it. Might as well let it hang out down there...maybe we'll get lucky and it'll starve to death by the time we return (assuming no one else resides in the monastery, which I somehow doubt).

Let's see... barring any healing from Aridha, Damien is out for... [roll0] hours. If conscious, he would point out that he already advocated running the Hell away earlier.

You are absolutely right. The way Rivergard went down, you guys had "chained" 3 encounters together to some degree into one fight. Other than that, most encounters have been on separate days. It's definitely a challenge, not of all sandbox games, but of a sandbox that kind of assumes a specific order of operations. Also the gap between 4th and 5th level encounters seems to be one of the largest.

Aridha still has heals to burn...a 2nd level and some first level Cure Wounds. She can get folks up and moving, but yeah, we need to find someplace to lick our wounds. Hopefully this jolly gang represents the worst of what the monastery can throw at us.

In other news...man, I can't believe how ineffectual I was during that fight.

Of course, it wasn't helped by the fact that I missed half my turns.

I'm sinking into a funk here again. I think I'd better find some funny kitten vids on Youtube for a while, so I can bury my legitimate concerns about my future in this game under a pastiche of kawaii.
