Some Questions that need answering.

So-- if you;ve read the first post, you know there are some questions that need consensus from the group before we move on. This is my intent-- for you guys to work out the answers here in the OOC thread, then post your own character's "intro scene" in the IC thread.

Some of our questions are:

1) What happened at Stratholme? Why was it so bad the party disbanded afterwards?

2) How did the party get together the first time?

3) What have the characters been doing in the mean time? And how did they get to Fogshore?

4) What was your PCs view of Ellisir and how do they feel about this reading of the Will and Testament?

Discuss.

Brainstorm

The idea is to get you guys talking to one another, to brainstorm what your first adventure (since everyone is level 2) contained and what brought you all together and split you up.

Feel free to toss out ideas.

Working on answers to all the questions but the couple detail ideas I've come up with regarding #1 -
I think Ellsir got us in WAY over our heads. We were damn lucky to get out alive. Something about yellow/gold lightening. I think it went so wrong in so many ways after a few "successful" adventures prior we all said "Eff this" I don't want to die...at least not yet and not like this. Thanks very much, good times...buhbye.

#4 -I get the feeling Ellsir was both the comic and the straight man. And in the midst of being deadly serious would somehow include a joke/fib/silly incanation...all delivered as if it were part of his serious schpiel. This was both endearing and irritating to Sha. I think she's so earnest that she'd be focused on following him and be anoyed by getting sidetracked by his silliness. I tihnk it freaked Sha out how well he could see the future and his cryptic ways of dropping little memos about them. Having to deal w/ the will at this time is anoying b/c it makes her sidetracked. And he already knew that. Which is doubly anoying. But she's too curious about the will and everyone else's well being to ignore it...plus she could use some reliable help to deal w/ a personal situation...and even ensuring her own saftey of staying alive.

I've got lots for #3 will post that tomorrow.

Still noodling on #2.

So, those are my ideas so far. Whatchu got? :)

EDIT: 7/7

#2 - Ellisir gathered us together one by one.
#3 - I went home to Rowaith in Seridane and have gotten wrapped up in a conspiracy. I was met on the road by a messenger on my way out of Rowaith and changed course to Fogshore.

Who, what, where, when and why. Sometimes, how.

1. We're still a young party. I really like Shaphia's idea that we'd had a few early successes but I'd like to add that we got a little cocky and allowed ourselves to get carried away by Ellisir. I think we went after an artifact for him held by a rival in Stratholme and he glossed over the resistance we'd face. Our failure to even come close to where Ellisir thought it was stored before being driven away scared and shocked us.

2. Shaphia... I love it! Ellisir attended a symposium in Aurelia's hometown where she attended as an hetaera (Hetaera - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia but without the sex part!) She intrigued him and he asked her to join a small group of highly intelligent and driven individuals to undertake small tasks periodically. Curious about what small tasks he meant, she agreed.

3. I saw the failure as a sign from Liriel that I was not ready for more so I went back to my home temple to ask the advice of my High Priestess and for meditation. I split my time at home between serving at the temple and spending time with my sister, Iulia and my brand-new nephew, Alexi. Out of the blue, Lady Claudia summoned me to her audience chamber and bade me travel to Fogshore, saying only that it had to do with before. With those cryptic words, I borrowed a horse from my father and rode out.

4. I loved Ellisir. He brought a much needed levity to many situations and never tired of answering my questions about life outside of home. When I arrived in Fogshore only to learn that he was dead, it broke my heart.

1) What happened at Stratholme? Why was it so bad the party disbanded afterwards? It could be that one of us was kidnapped by "bad guy", and barely made it out alive.

2) How did the party get together the first time? Ellisir probably did some scouting, for various types of skills he was looking for. He found Eibhlin through school records.

3) What have the characters been doing in the mean time? And how did they get to Fogshore? Eibhlin traveled, sticking mostly to forests. She slowly made her way back to where the rest of her kind were (in the forests near Trilagos), and then into Trilagos itself to see her parents. She got the message about needing to go to Fogshore when an old teacher stopped by the house with the letter for her. He was incredibly concerned and had to be talked out of going with her...Eibhlin's parents didn't know the reason for her quick exit.

4) What was your PCs view of Ellisir and how do they feel about this reading of the Will and Testament? Eibhlin never really trusted him, though she had no reason to other than a nagging feeling at the back of her mind. He gave no outward appearance that things were any different than he said they were. She chose to work for/with him almost out of desperation after graduating, because she didn't want to be stuck at home with her parents letting her skills get rusty.

1. I really think something huge happened that almost killed us all. Something big that we might not even have believed had we not been there, like some kind of being that we thought was a myth. It would have been the kind of thing that people swear to never speak of again, you know, unless they start dying...

2. I would not be surprised if Ellisir recruited us all individually, becoming friends with us, then introduced us all to each other at the same time and said, "Hey, I have this crazy idea..."

3. Izzy tried to just go home and start over, but when she got there, couldn't actually enter the city. She went back to traveling on her own until now...

4. She liked him more than she wanted to, because she was never sure what he was up to in that head of his, but, over time, has been able to distance herself from that feeling. She's apprehensive and a little freaked about the Will, and also worries about getting sad about his death. It hasn't happened yet, but she anticipates a tear or two coming.
