D&D 5E [OOC] Securing the Alliance: An Adventure in Tethyr [ENDED]

Brue can't get a good read from Aelrith. He could be telling the truth or lying through his teeth. With that said, if he is telling the truth, he likely watched a few others get dismembered and eaten over the course of a few days, so he very likely wants nothing to do with any more ogres.

Just as a DM suggestion, in case you're trying to figure out something to do with him, he could hang with Donkey Joté and Andal while you all are exploring. He'll *probably* be safe with them.

The cart's two hours away by foot, yes? We have loot we could store on the cart. We could take the loot and Aelrith to the cart. Though I dunno if we trust him to wait by the cart and not make off with Jote. Donkey's worth more than the loot. :) Sentimentality, you know. Also, isn't it currently nighttime?

It's nighttime. You could just have him hang with the animals rather than going all the way to the cart. I figure y'all hitched them a little ways away from the cave mouth. Alternately, head to the cart, then come back to load up all of the loot, as you're only getting about a quarter of the stuff back to the cart if you try to carry it out on foot/hoof from here.

Joté and Andal can probably take care of themselves. Aelrith looks pretty weak, but motivated enough to attempt the walk back top Port Kir if the party insisted on him coming along with if they want to hunt ogres.

Forged Fury, how big a stick is the ceremonial staff? I'm thinking three feet (longer than a wand, shorter than a quarterstaff) because either you or I said at some point it fit in Brue's arms. I could be totally misremembering.

Yeah, I would agree with the leaving the loot and havign the elf stay with the cart. Worst case scenario, we lose a few gold worth of items and can then have a side quest of revenge hunting!

"Gentlemen and lady, the fate of the world is at stake!"

"Yeah, hold up a minute, this guy took our cart."

I think it would make a great buddy cop film.

Forged Fury, it's been a couple days, and no one's piped up to say otherwise, so I think we should just roll with leaving the loot in the cave, and escorting Aelrith to hang out with Jote and Andal. Once we've settled Aelrith with the beasts of burden, we want to head for the manor. Thanks.

With Olrox17 having responded yesterday at noon and indicating he wanted to find out more about the elf, plus with hafrogman appearing to have some kind of interest in determining if Aelrith's motives were true, I'm content to wait through tomorrow before moving the thread along. Particularly considering none of you have really engaged Aelrith about anything.

Sorry, I've been out of it this week. I really just wanted to make sure that he couldn't actually have the staff/stick secreted on his person. And it sounds like not, so I'm fine with him going.
