Honestly, and selfishly, I am hoping that Surana and/or Derendil get knocked the F' out. Then we can drag the unconscious ones back to camp...

Pffffft don't hold your breath on that Surana KO. She's functionally got 60 hp left, and now Derendil has an extra target to swipe at. But it's not him we have to worry about...

Honestly, I was really surprised that you both stayed. Ez had picked up Drum and was walking away. That was part of what made the decision easy for her--believing that you two would see Drum, Shuushar & Orsik safely away. She's going to be mad at Ez for the last 10 seconds of her life.

I give up on grappling Derendil, and there's no time to KO. Just looking at this round as one last shot to draw some blood and hopefully that might snap him out of it. If that fails and she gets smooshed by a demon prince...oh well.

TPK? If you chase Derendil all the way to Demogorgon, you're probably right. Standard death rules apply. Maybe some of you will not be killed outright...

In Ez's mind, he had hoped that the comment to Drum would have at least caused Surana to hesitate, but when he saw that she showed no outward signs of the turmoil that is tearing at his own insides Ez just can't let that go. Maybe he actually looks at her as the leader of our party, because his own failings prevent him from taking the mantle, because she has been such a force of personality.

A lot of things are going on in Ezraen's mind right now...

Just to be clear, I'm not telling you how to play your PCs...whatever you think your PCs will do...do. If it's run headlong toward a demon prince as 3rd level characters over a mad elf?/quaggoth? that's entirely up to you. I just sit back looking like this:

I just don't want you to have any misconceptions about where this path leads. There's always death saves...

(besides...I have Storm King's Thunder on the shelf and Tales from the Yawning Portal on pre-order...so...)

Heh, that's actually a bit funny, because her own thought processes at the moment are desperately unfit for a leader. She's not being brave--just unhinged.

She watched a friend get murdered and had to stifle her raging desire for revenge. She fought in a battle she felt we likely wouldn't survive, in the name of her friend's killer. She lost her mind briefly when she saw a demon prince rise. Now another friend is running toward his death. And this has all just been the past hour...

I think the only thought in her mind right now, running on repeat, is "enough." Girl has had enough. Mama bear ain't losing another member of the tribe right now. If that means her own death, she just doesn't care at all. Enough.

He is not stupid, and though not wise, he does fit in the median percentile. I think he can be a good leader, as long as he has good advisers. But then, maybe he should start listening to the cleric more. After all, he did suggest AGAINST this course of action...
