I'm probably being unusually dense, but what is the significance of Belkar's last line "Looks like someone isn't getting their security deposit back." :heh:

Otherwise, I think this is an interesting situation. Nale does have a few problems to get through however. 1) as a sorcerer he has a different set of spells than Elan. Hmm, on the other hand, I can't actually recall Elan actually casting any bardic spells. Odd. Perhaps I just need to get some sleep . . . . In any case, 2) Elan often used bardic music - to inspire competence, to inspire courage, etc. Nale could perhaps attempt to bluff it, but how likely is he to have ranks in Perform? And even if he does, would any of the team notice the lack of benefit from Nale's 'songs'? (I think, near the very beginning, there was a comedic moment in #34 about Durkon forgetting to include the benefit of Elan's song during the last round.

On the other hand, how many (other than Haley) really pay all that much attention to Elan? It will be interesting to see how long it takes for them to realize the truth, but I'd be surprised if Nale managed to fool them for more than 10-20 strips, if that.

I believe that the massacre of the NPCs in the previous comic was done in a hotel room. Oftentimes, hotels require security deposits on their rooms in case of damage or missing items. I should know... I work in one. ;)

Yep. Roy also makes the comment that "Look at this place, it's like a heavy metal album cover in here!"

In her teenage years, Haley was a goth, and we're currently in a city with skyscrapers and airships. ;)

I sorta doubt the heavy metal album comment is out of order.

I think they'll notice when Nale sings, and it's actually good! that they'll realize it's not Elan. :)
