OotS 408...

I concur. This strip was particularily hard for me not to see the railroading of Rich's agenda within it. It feels too forced, as if all Rich is aiming for is Miko because the fans are screaming for blood.

I wonder how many people will get upset at Roy trying to kill Miko? Oh, yeah. That's right. It's never wrong to want to kill so long as they are in the protagonist's way. I hope all the people that condemned Miko for acting rashly get all over Roy's butt, too.

Is it a bad sign when so far ErfWorld has been better this week than OotS? :confused: {Go ahead and throw tomatoes, I don't care.}
Whatever.

You can't be serious. Attacking someone who just murdered a defenseless old man in front of you is not even remotely the same thing as murdering that old man yourself.

Well, you're right about one thing. The comment about Erfworld being better than OotS this week was a bit over the top. And totally incorrect!

I'm not calling them the same intensity of bad. What I am claiming is that all the people were getting up in arms because Miko totally short changed the "justice" of the land. In other words, she took it into her own hands to effect justice. That's precisely what Roy is doing. Look at Roy's words. He isn't trying to subdue her and save her butt for trial like he should be. But I'm not trying to equate the two as equals, of course.

Edit: And for what it is worth, had Roy done nothing Miko might have been on her way to atonement. We can't be sure, but the words and the expression seem to indicate it. Now, Roy has only convinced her that she was right (even if she really was wrong).

They talk about stuff like class levels and weapon plusses in OotS all the time. Roy probably knows that he has less chance of beating Miko if he tries to do subdual damage.

Miko is dangerously unstable. Who knows who else she might have killed if Roy had let her go?

Yeah. I'd have attacked. She did pick up her sword again, after all, and before Roy moved to stop her. If she'd just stared at her hands placidly, I'd have let her go, but in the situation where the gal who just murdered someone in front of you picks up her weapon again with her back to you, you take her down if you have the means. And Roy has the means.

*yawn* raise your hand if you did not see that one coming.

It had a few funny lines in it that made me chuckle like the milk line.

I just wish Rich had done something different more unexpected.

If Belker kills her I will be very disappointed because then he will not have managed to surprise me at all.

FWIW, I hope nobody takes my posts as an intentional troll. I'm not trying to make people mad. I just think that OotS is speaking to a much deeper level than "Oh, Roy kill! Belkar Kill!" {Not that there is anything wrong with that level, I'm just saying that I think there is an additional deeper level.}

Who knows who he might have saved if he would've tried to help rather than attack and force her hand into believing her lie, too? The point is, we don't know.

I've met Rich a bunch of times, and I'm comfortable saying that he's virtually impervious to popular opinion when writing the comic. This was plotted and planned a long time ago. Like it or don't, but he's definitely not scripting this to "appease fans."
