OotS 408...

By that logic, if there's someone who just shot and killed someone else and is still waving the gun around, the police should just let him go. After all, we don't know how many lives might be saved if the gunman is somehow redeemed, right?

I don't think so. When you just witnessed someone commit a brutal murder, you don't take chances like that. And this has nothing to do with my feelings about the character of Miko.

What if Roy was a paladin? Would he be allowed to attack her and kill her even when she is kneeling down trying to figure out what happened? Or would you view that as an evil act ,that the paladin chose to be judge jury and executioner?

I am curious because of a lot of your statements in the other thread.

Let;s not forget that Roy could choose to do subdual damage and he attacked without asking for her surrender. He could have put himself into a postion to be ready to attack first and asked for her surrender, If she didn't then he could have attacked.

If Roy were a paladin and Miko was kneeling, the proper thing to do would be try to arrest her. But Miko picked up her weapon again, and having just demonstrated that she was dangerously unstable, that is more than enough justification for attacking her.

Although, thinking about it some more, this does make Roy a hypocrite, since he let Belkar back in the party after he murdered the guard. But that's a separate issue.

If Belker kills her I will be very disappointed because then he will not have managed to surprise me at all.

Yoiks, you gotta be kidding me. Surprising turns of events are one thing, but there's gotta be a payoff once in a while.

Go Belkar!

This is the first strip in a while that actually made me laugh out loud. Though I laughed just when he said she needed to get laid. The treasure type O was sorta like stepping on his own punch line with another joke. But it WAS a good one.

If Roy had been a paladin, and there were any kind of internal consistency in the OotS universe, he wouldn't be anymore.

Crazy idea: Cleric summoned a few strips ago shows up to see dead Sojo, dead Belkar, dead Miko, dead Roy, and Hinjo asking the cleric if he gives volume discounts :)

Eh. No one in the OotSverse is a perfect person, and only the most egotistical paladins pretend to be.

There's a world of difference between, "YOU LIED ABOUT AN OATH, SO YOU MUST BE IN LEAGUE WITH XYKON AND I DON'T CARE WHETHER OR NOT THAT'S TRUE" and "Crap, she just murdered someone in front of me, then picked her weapon back up..."
