I think we might finally find out whether it is the claimed mark of justice or just an arcane mark with a bluff. I believe it is the latter.

Likewise, though I must admit Belkar's prophecy combined with those for the other OotS members lead me to suspect that he will also be buying a farm in the Abyss at some future point in the strip. Being incapacitated by an active Mark of Justice would tend to hurry that sort of plot along, wouldn't it?

But, definitely, comedy gold today.

Doubtful. She probably sent it back to the upper planes, and now she can't call it to her, so...

I guess I just wish I didn't hear so much "Kill Miko" stuff. It bothers me, deeply ... as if it is a commentary on how much our society is built around violence and killing is justified. I'm no pacifist and I support the army/nave/air force/ marines/coast guard. It just seems that the cries for Miko's blood are getting so strong.

There's a world of difference between, "YOU LIED ABOUT AN OATH, SO YOU MUST BE IN LEAGUE WITH XYKON AND I DON'T CARE WHETHER OR NOT THAT'S TRUE" and "Crap, she just murdered someone in front of me, then picked her weapon back up and I know she hates me and think it's my fault..."

Miko could mean "medium, sorceress, shrine maiden" or
child of the emperor, a maiden consecrated to the gods"
Miyazaki either means "promontory princess" or "honorable child"
The kanji for Miyazaki is 宮嵜
The kanji for Miko is 御子
Though dont quote me on this, i am neither japanese nor do i understand it.
Whetver you think Rich put any thought into this is up to you.

Rich already told he didn't put much thoughts into this, and just took Japanese-sounding names without caring much about their meaning, or even if they had any.

Well, OotS is still a gaming-related "teh funney" strip - any interesting story is just bonus.
If I want character-development, I'll patiently wait for the next Inverloch update.

Huh. I've never found OotS to be very funny at all. What I like about it is the interesting story. When I read people complain about the strips that are all story and say they want the funny to come back, I can only think to myself "what funny?" The jokes are just lame.
