OotS 408...

I must be missing something, I don't see what's so amusing with that euphemism.

It is a pun. In 1st ed AD&D, monsters were given treasure types by letter. So a medusa might have had treasure type G. You then refer to the table and look under the entry G and see what would be treasure for that medusa (maybe 1d6 thousand sp, 2% chance of a potion, etc.). [Note I am making up the specifics here].

The other meaning is an equation of "O" with "orgasm".

So the humor is nostalgia related.

I dont see why people are hating Rich for not being constantly edgy and unpredictable. To me, the fun is in the pun. And then the myriad of metalines and rules lawyering that go on ingame... and the characters are aware of it all.

The best thing is that it is amusing and original. There were a few lines in this strip that had me chuckle out loud in class today...

Reg: Prophecies

That would be #331. I bookmarked it some time ago; it's been cool to refer back to it now and then as the plot unfolds.

I'm just waiting to see how Vaarsuvius's prophecy comes out- what sort of "ultimate cosmic power" could the elf be in line to receive?

I suspect its the Snarl...

I always figured the green energy was deadly regardless of what it hit, but it was particularly harmful to the undead. At least that's how I read the quote... *shrugs
That was exactly how it read. Roy even did the classic blunder of "Shut up, you're an NPC." when the blacksmith was advising him how to counteract said radiation.

Maybe next time his player will listen to the blacksmith is about to recommend a lead lined sword sheath.

By the way, bad time for Roy to miss his Fort save. Unless the GM allows non core feats that change the fort save from Fort to Will... ;)

My thoughts:

1) Roy's not a paladin, so I don't hold him to the same standard.

2) Awesome and funny, I am very pleased.

3) I am glad Rich isn't trying to surprise me...I don't like surprises.

4) Kill Miko, she's an abomination...

What if Roy was a paladin? Would he be allowed to attack her and kill her even when she is kneeling down trying to figure out what happened? Or would you view that as an evil act ,that the paladin chose to be judge jury and executioner?

I am curious because of a lot of your statements in the other thread.

Let;s not forget that Roy could choose to do subdual damage and he attacked without asking for her surrender. He could have put himself into a postion to be ready to attack first and asked for her surrender, If she didn't then he could have attacked.

At least Miko was someone who had committed a serious and real crime. Lying to a bunch of paladins and acting like a real head of government (I seem to recall that even Constantine refused to be baptised because it was the Emperor's job to sin) by doing what is necessary and expedient rather than always ethical isn't exactly a capital crime.
We've seen before that Miko is hell on wheels in a fight, capable of taking down most of the OotS single-handedly. Roy wasn't exactly in the wrong to use the most effective means possible to bring her down.
Whatever you think of Roy, Miko has very much earned her treatment, both the loss of her paladinhood and the attempt to bring her down.

Miko has been nothing but despicable to Roy, who was warming up to her. She was acting like a b***h all over him (not in the Type O way). So it makes sense for him to whup her a** (not in the Type O way) while aprehending her for regicide. And if she goes down (not in the Type O way), it was just "resisting arrest".
