[OT] How can I live without sleep? (Help me P-kitty!)

So sleepy..... so very sleeeepy.......

For the last month or so, I've been getting an average of 5-6 hours of sleep per night. Its always something. Either I just can't sleep, or the wife is sick, or I'm sick or.... something.

Last Sunday I was able to sleep in and was out for 12 hours! Felt great the rest of the day, but was back to the same old routine the rest of the week.

Anyway, has anyone got any advice about keeping my energy level up? Keep in mind, I have migraines and excessive caffeine (read: coffee) is a no no.

Thanks

Sleep more.
Eat healthy
Excercise

try taking daily vitamins. then about an hour or two before your planned sleep time, take melatonin.

Melatonin is a chemical that our bodies secrete a lot when we are children, as we get older we produce less. It facilitates restful sleep.

Using melatonin might make you a bit drowsy so that you can get to sleep.

Cut down on the coffee, it partially might be related to your migraines. Also look for what causes stress in your life and find a way to diffuse it, that also causes migraines.

I know Pirate Cat is an expert on sleep and work productivity. In past threads like this he has recommended a book called The Idiot's Guide to Sleep. Sounds like that might be helpful to you as a chronic undersleeper.

I used to have trouble with this a lot. You need water. Not milk or oj, but water, lots of water.

Fortunately, a good binge lasts quite a while (months, even), and it can even help with caffiene withdrawel.
