[OT]How many of you like the band KISS?

I'm in agreement with grazzt.

With the exception of "The Elder" i liked them up until they dropped the Make-up and became just another mediocre band.

Shame really... i still have memories of going to see them when they played here in Britain many, many years ago...

I want to rock n' roll all night...

...and part of every day.

I believe it's "and party every day".

ROCK AND ROLL ALL NITE
Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons

You show us everything you've got
You keep on dancin' and the room gets hot
You drive us wild, we'll drive you crazy
You say you wanna go for a spin
The party's just begun, we'll let you in
You drive us wild, we'll drive you crazy
You keep on shoutin', you keep on shoutin'

I wanna rock and roll all nite and party every day
I wanna rock and roll all nite and party every day
I wanna rock and roll all nite and party every day
I wanna rock and roll all nite and party every day

You keep on saying you'll be mine for a while
You're lookin' fancy and I like your style
You drive us wild, we'll drive you crazy
You show us everything you've got
Baby, baby that's quite a lot
And you drive us wild, we'll drive you crazy
You keep on shoutin', you keep on shoutin'

I wanna rock and roll all nite and party every day

I never was deep into the whole Kiss experience but I had a step-brother & a friend who loves them. The only music that I liked was "Beth" & The Elder album. As far as rock theatre music goes, Alice Cooper is still the best ;)

I regard KISS sort of like I regard those Adam West Batman shows. At the time, they seemed okay, even great at times. Today, I just look back at them and debate whether or not they are funny enough to make up for the fact they are so stupid. Stupid and funny I can deal with.

KISS doesn't do anything for me, though I don't loathe them quite like I loathe the large crop of hair metal bands that permeated the 80's. I didn't even really get into music until the start of the 90's... much of what came before that just left me feeling cold. Unfortunately, 'rock' music has degenerated into a wholly new state of sucking over the last few years.

hrm.. well i guess i like them.

before lick it up. actually lick it up was ok...

the makeup era was the best and i guess my favorite album would be creatures of the night.

Alive II was, for its time, and i gues still is, one hell of a live album. captured the moment really well.

I haven't heard of any of their songs but I don't like how they do the whole face paint deal. What're they like 50 or something now?

That repetitive "crap" is what made KISS well...KISS...and every other glam/rock/metal band a band or anthem band (like Twisted Sister for example). That was the way rock-n-roll was done then. It makes the song easy to remember and catchy as well.

Plus- there is a reason you make the chorus repetitive....so peeps will remember it.

When I played music for a living (late 80's/early to mid 90's) we were a glam band (along the lines of Pretty Boy Floyd, Poison, Faster Pussycat, Shotgun Messiah) and we had several songs with repetitive choruses and it worked out well.

Salutations,

I like how they look - singing clowns. haha.

Other then that- the only song I know is the rock&roll one.

They are ok- not worth liking or disliking.

I have been impressed with interviews I have seen with the lead singer.
