If you want my opinion, soccer is boring. It's fun to play, but really really really really boring to watch. A lot more boring than a 0-0 hockey game with 15 total and non dangerous shot on goal.

Curling is most exciting than soccer to watch !!! At less, they are big collision

Wow, no comments yet on this incredible first period? This is definately a different Detroit team than we saw two nights ago, but Brind Amour really took the wind out of our sails. This is an exciting game, folks!

You know...I haven't watched more than 2 periods of playoff hockey this year...I feel such shame seeing as how I grew up playing the sport! It must be that I'm jaded being a Pens fan and all...

But I've got the game on now. Good exciting hockey!

I can't believe you folks are still wittering on about this none event, especially after the USA beat Portugal 3-2 yesterday which puts them in a good chance of getting through to the next round.

I hear the only US media coverage of the match was by a Spanish language TV station.

Just in case you are still completely clueless as to how amazing a win that was for the USA; Portugal lost to France in the Euro 2000 finals, France are the current holders of the World Cup. Portugal are in fact pretty good. USA had the joint worst record in the last France '98.

OMG. Two goals in 13 seconds! I thought the second goal was just a replay for a moment there. Wow.

That's why Detroit will win this series. The Wings have the talent and the experience to bust a game open like that.

Exactly! They may have a good defense, but so do we! They got, what, seven shots the whole game (up until the last few seconds, anyway?) And the best defense in the world can't cope with an unrelenting offense that NEVER LETS UP! I can't believe we didn't score twice as often as we did: the puck hardly ever left their end of the ice.

Great game! Frustrating for a Wings fan until about halfway through the third period, then, like Madriel said, I thought they were showing replays! Two goals like that was amazing!

And the Canes were starting to feel the frustration. Lots of fights almost started there...

Hell of a game by both teams, but I definately think Detroit controlled most of that third period. That's why they won it. I still am shocked at Brindamor's goal. I didn't think he had that kind of hands. (And trust me I KNOW since he's never been a pure offensive minded guy, at least not for the Flyers!) Still it was a good and timely goal. I do think though they might consider using Weekes. That 2nd goal by Lidstrom was little flukey, in the sense that I thought that Irbe would get it. It was a good shot and certainly a good goal....but I though Irbe would have had that.

Anyway just my thoughts. Can't wait for Saturday. Raleigh is going to go nuts!

The wings unrelenting nature will eventually kill the canes they cannot possibly compete with the Wings fire power.And wings defense is more than able to handle the canes.

As to the world cup.Why are europeans so concerned about what americans think about world cup soccer.Just be glad we don't care and go on.Americans like watching sports with exicitment and scoring.Soccer is a childrens game here.

When the world cup came here 8 years ago we were amazed at how boring it was.Whats up with a sport that throws cards at people and throws players on stretchers so they won't have to stop the clock.Thank god they don't stop the clock its boring enough.

If the USA team actually makes it to the final round we americans will watch.But we are not holding our breath,And frankly we just don't care.
