By the way, most people in America do not typically do the "first date" "second date" kind of thing. That only happens on sitcoms.

Digressing entirely, it's amazing what people think about this country from watching American television! Contrary to popular belief, not all high schools look like fashion catalogs, not all city streets are filled with gang bangers and not all lawyers and doctors are sex-crazed immature basket-cases

Although, my husband, who is Jewish, thought for the longest time that people dressing up like Santa for photos in malls was something that only happened in the movies! (that actually does happen, he just never went to the mall around Christmas

Thanks for the follow-up post. I was beginning to think that I was the only one who took the initial post as tongue-in-cheek satire, and maybe I misread it. Loved your examples from 'Geekdom', especially the comic book references (many of which brought back a feeling of deja vu).

And for all you folks out there that want this to be a real thread I will pass on the best piece of advice I ever heard about picking up girls: "Don't take anyone's advice. What works for them won't work for you and what works for you won't work for them."

I always though the best way to get a girl, was to smack her on the top of the head with a large club. Then drag her by the hair to you cav.....er home, and tie her up, and feed her marshmellows, until she can no longer fit through the bars of her cage. Then..... it's party time!!!

RULE #1!

First of all, VikingB., I saw the satire within 5 seconds, but mostly because I studied satire for quite a while a few months back. Cleverly disguised BTW.

I mostly look at dating advice columns because I find them interesting, but personally I NEVER take any advice from them.

There are a few rules to successful dating, though they are not too hard to follow:

RULE #1 - Be yourself, goddammit!
RULE #2 - ARROGANCE=BAAD!
RULE #3 - Don't seek dating advice from gamers!

That's pretty much what I mean. This story is an old story from
when I was 16 (I'm 19 now, but for me those three years are
like, forever, y'know. I was different person back then).
