[OT] Video Game Help Sites

Villano

First Post
Okay, I know this is a bit off-topic, but I know that this group is a pretty helpful lot and right now I need some help.

Does anyone here know of a good, active (free) website where people can ask questions and get hints on video games (particularly PS2)?

I don't have a huge collection of games and tend to stick to fighting games. However, I recently made a trip to the mall and saw a copy of TY, THE TASMANIAN TIGER on the shelf for only $9.95. I took it to the register to see if that was right (I've only seen it for $19.95). I thought that maybe it was a used game that ended up in the new section.

It turns out that someone at the store mislabeled it. It really should have been $19.95. However, store policy is that they have to sell it at the marked price.

Needless to say, I bought it. :D

Anyway, to make a long story short (too late!), it's a pretty good game, but I'm hoplessly stuck in a certain level. I don't want to clog up this board with my question, but I'd appreciate any help pointing me in the direction of a place I can ask it.

Apologies to the mods if this is really OT, but I'm going out of my mind. You have to find these 8 little, hidden koalas, and I've covered every square inch of the level and can't find the last one.

This is why I stick to fighting games.

Try www.ign.com I do know that not all of the parts are free but you might get lucky. Who knows if that doesn't work hit up www.google.com and you will find what you seek.

Thanks for the IGN link. It looks like it has a good walkthrough for the game.

I tried Googling it, but I ended up with so many sites that were inactive, didn't have much participation, etc., etc.

I'll second that vote for gamefaqs.com. I have always been able to find the help I need there if I get stuck.

I to will also tell you about gamefaqs, BUT the message boards are next to useless when new games are released.

For KotoR, the message board had close 3 questions posted every 10 seconds or so. MY question was on page 3 or 4 after 15 minutes and people were always asking the same dang question. Your best bet is to just read a few pages to see if your question poped up. For older games you should be pretty safe asking questions.

p.s. for future reference video and PC game topics go in the software forum.

So noted. Like I said, I'm not a big video game player, so I didn't even consider the software forum. Truthfully, I don't think I ever noticed it. I have a WebTV, so I tend to gloss over anything sounding remotely computer related (people who own WebTVs will understand that).

And thanks for all the help, everyone. :)

P.S. For anyone interested, I found that last damn koala. Turns out, he was in the middle of a high pillar situated on a slight hill. Due to the koala being so small and the angle of the hill, you can't even see him (even on top of the other pillars).
