Solace pokes her head up and quickly gets a sense of her surroundings as a mystic energy field begins to cling around her. She understands intuitively that it will protect her, though with all the chaos going on, she is not entirely certain how this has come to be. No matter. here are her possessions. Jimjar is putting armour on, and so she remains unaware of the keys. She's damaged, but wants first to be free of her manacles.

She dives for her belt, and reaches for the thieves' tools. and attempts the lock on her hands.

Thieves' tools. [roll0].Whether she's successful or not, she moves back to the access way, and prepares to descend, once the guard room is no longer filled with Quaggoths.

(do they look like they are hostile against her?) She prepares to descend, once it is safe to do so, taking the shard with her.

OOC: Okay--Solace is still manacled, but Jimjar is getting clothes on and is unable to free her. She's now got Mage armour (AC = 15), and so should be in a fight. One free object interaction, so that's the tools; she'll keep the dagger, but not grab a proper knife or a hand crossbow.

Solace found her pack and her thieves' tools, and attempted but failed to pick the lock of the manacles shackling her wrists. Even though the trap door that lead from the armory to the first story of the stalactite was closed, she could tell by the vibrations all throughout the stalactite that the herd of quaggi had yet to finish cycling through the lower level. Jimjar looked up from donning studded leather and spied Solace struggling to pick her manacles. The deep gnome used the Common speech and said, "Half a moment, lass, and I'll have you free. I've snatched K'nyr's keys."

Out on the ledge, Raza heard the click of a crossbow quarrel being loosed from its firing mechanism. Shortly thereafter, His Highness yammered in pain.

The behemoth of quaggi stampeded out of the stalactite and down the rope bridge. Raza felt the whoosh of cold air at their passing. Inside the stalactite, sound quieted a few degrees with the behemoth's dissipation.

OOC: Looks like we've got at least one, possibly more, characters wanting to jump back into the fight. Some of you will be fighting, and others will be donning armor (fear not, I'm sure the fight will come to you), so we won't fast forward and will instead keep to combat rounds. Brinn's helping Jimjar and Shuushar will cut their don time to 30 seconds total (keep in mind that's five rounds and we're already in the second round of donning). Once they've suited up, all three of them could help Kago, which would shorten to 1 minute total the time it takes him to don the chain...in other w ords, another five rounds after the others are finished donning. I'm mulling how to expedite this without sacrificing flavor.

Raza, still in centipede form, cautiously crawled over the lip of the ledge next to the rope bridge. She tasted the air for the presence of quaggoth and, finding them outside her circle of perception, relaxed slightly. She ran across the bridge but stopped just outside the stalactite room and in the briefest of moments shifted back to halfling form. After a short prayer to the Mother Night a flame appeared in her hand and she stood on the bridge, watchful for any threat.

Raza shifted back into Halfling form. With a snap of her fingers, she produced a flickering flame in the palm of her hand that shed bright light for a ten foot radius, and dim light for another ten foot radius halo beyond that. She could hear scuffling coming from the south, but could see nothing.

Hearing the vibration of the quagga, Kamael couldn't help breathing a sigh of relief as they rapidly passed underneath. He then realised that he finally had the time to assist Brinn, rapidly casting a light spell on the front of Brinn's clothing so that the way in front of him would be illuminated.

"Solace, what's the rush? Why not let the quaggi soften up the remaining drow while we take a look at your injuries & maybe help the orc with his armor?"

Stool pressed against the wall and stayed out of the way while Shuushar continued to fiddle with straps and buckles, trying to squeeze into armor. Jimjar left off donning his armor and darted forward to use the key he'd nicked off K'nyr to unshackle Solace. He removed the manacles from her wrist, the iron belt at her waist, and the iron slave collar from her neck. All three items fell with a clank to the armory floor.

Raza could hear more yowls of anger and pain--fighting, it seemed--coming from the southern platform containing the herd of quaggi.

OOC: Kago's turn, [MENTION=23298]industrygothica[/MENTION]. Probably Kago is continuing to don armor, yeah?



[sblock=DM Notes]Brinn is helping Shuushar and JimJar don studded leather. With Brinn's help, it'll take 30 seconds. Round 7 marks the second full round of five rounds of donning armor. If Brinn continues helping, Shuushar and Jimjar will have donned armor by their turn on Round 10.

If Kago has help from two or more individuals while donning his chain shirt, Kago's time to don armor can be cut from 5 minutes to 1 minute. He started in Round 6, which would mean he'd be suited up by his turn on Round 16.[/sblock]

The front of Brinn's clothing lit up brilliantly at Kamael's touch. Magic infused the cloth, flickering brightly in the narrow confines of the armory.
