Out of the Frying Pan 2 (Bol and Kesler)

Bol sips the drink to see if he needs to slam it, or if he needs to nurse it. He looks at the doctor. "Name's Bol Mid'yln. It seems like we have a common goal in wanting to get off of this rock." He pauses with a puzzled look on his face.

"That little guy say anything to you? It just occured to me that he said he didn't need a doctor, but that he could give help. And asked what we wanted. Perhaps that's our way off this planet?

As the two of you are talking, the bartender slides the Corellian Ale towards Kesler. At the same time that he notices the dancers, one of them has noticed him, and she winks in his direction.

Kesler realizes with more than a little irritation that this ‘Bol’ character does not in fact have a way off the planet. Not wanting to cause a scene he simply shrugs and sighs, “Seems you’ve heard everything he said to me. It’s possible he could help, but Chadra-Fan are great at making things work just long enough to get you killed. I’d trust anything he’s ‘fixed’ about as far as I could toss you. But don’t let that stop you.” He says, with a sardonic smile.

He takes a swig of his ale and smiles at the woman who winked at him. ”Well it doesn’t look like we’re going anywhere for a while.” he thinks, getting up from his seat to move closer.

OOC: Reading Ambrus' post I just want to say that from what I've read I agree with him about your GMing ability shadow. And I'm not just kissing your ass. The only thing I can think of to complain about is the lack of NPC descriptions, most are just race and gender, and important character's get little more. Four for instance got something like, tall human woman, and shadows hide her beauty. Of course I may be completely wrong as I've not been able to read the descriptions of most of the current characters with the loss of the posts containing them.

I know that's very long for my one small complaint, but I've been told I'm pessimistic.

[sblock=OOC]Firstly, thank you for the compliment. I've had enough people KMA for various reasons that I can usually tell the difference between the two. As far as the NPC descriptions go with me, it depends on the importance of the character 1) to the story and 2) to the PCs. If you guys decide to follow up with a certain NPC, more will be revealed. At first, all I give is simple at-a-glance descriptions, as unless you want to be caught staring, that's all you will see. That and the other characters all know Four from before the crash... Thank you for bringing it up though. I'll try to make sure I put a little more into it for you guys. Case in point:[/sblock]

The song eventually changes and judging from the groans of the various patrons, it is not a very good one. Kesler's Twi'Lek admirer decides to take this time to get to know him better.

She parts the room with a look in her eyes, intently making her way towards the Nabooian man. The simple light brown leotard she wears hugs her body tightly, almost looking as if it was a second, seemless, skin. Her head-tails bob lightly as she sways toward him. She stops, bringing her lips mere inches from his face. "Don't I know you?," she whispers in fluent Huttese.

Bol's attention is squarely on the Chadra as the doctor is speaking to him. When he mentions that the Bothan should go speak to him, Bol absentmindedly answers him. "Perhaps I should. Yeah, I think I'll go see if there's anything he can help us with." He sips more of his drink taking it to half empty as he continues to watch the dimunitive figure go from table to table. He barely notices the music change. As he brings his drink up to his lips, he hears the crowd groan in response to the change in music.

Lifting his drink again, he decides to go talk to the small figure. Not even looking to see if the doc is still at the table, he casually throws over his shoulder, "I'm gonna go talk to the little guy. See what he wants......" His voice trails off as he turns to see that there's nobody at his table listening to him. He searches for the doctor and sees him at a table near the girls and notices the tasy morsel talking to him. Finishing his drink in one quick motion, his lets a smile creep across his face. 'Poor guy.'

He then stands up and moves to the Chadra. Once near the little guy, he taps him on the shoulder. "Ok, I've had my drink. What'd you want to talk about?"

[sblock="OOC"]I read every post for this game that’s still on the site, including their meeting with Four. At the time I thought her description was very vague but of course I haven’t read anything that hasn’t been recovered so I likely missed something. The last mention of Tal and Femi (and Tac) before the crash, had them going into a Nar Shada Cantina after just escaping from a fire fight in another one. And now they’re on Tatooine fleeing from clone troopers and Jabba’s thugs.

A major downside to this medium of communication, I can’t tell by her tone if she’s serious or flirting. “Don’t I know you?” those specific words imply a bit of certainty, more than “Do I know you?” or “Have we met?” as they are asking you to deny that they know you rather than confirm it. As if they already believe the answer is yes. I therefore conclude that the statement is meant more to be serious than flirtatious. She also whispered, which of course could be either serious or flirtatious though depending on the tone. Agh I’m overanalyzing things again!

Kesler is pleasantly surprised to see the lovely Twi-Lek woman approaching him. He smiles at her again but takes on a more neutral (though still friendly) expression as she speaks, “Hm, I don’t know, I’m Kesler Murada, a doctor. I’m sure I would have remembered you if we’d met though.” He replies in what he hopes is a charming manner, speaking Huttese as well. He watches her intently, in hopes of jaring his memory.

OOC: And again my ooc analysis is longer than the IC post...

[sblock=OOC]Disclaimer: the following is a compliment to Dire Lemming and Ambrus. Sort of:

You are as bad as Ambrus. Overanalyzing everything and all that :p Not to worry though, keeps me on my toes as GM.

The tiny Chadra-Fan squeaks out of its shoes as Bol taps him on the shoulder. Well, it would have if it was wearing any. "Help you can. Give help I. Question ask. Answer give. Gift to you." If a Chadra-Fan's smile could be recognized, this was it. Bol also notes that some of the patrons watching the interaction have gained some sort of entertainment from it, as they are sharing quiet laughter.

The Twi'Lek woman doesn't move from her close position, her lekku twitching slowly, almost hypnotically. Kesler can smell the sweet scent of exotic perfume on her. Her thin lips curl slowly into a smile. "I never asked if you knew me, but yes, I do know you. Doctor." Her hand, seemingly appearing from thin air in Kesler's peripheral vison, lightly strokes his cheek. "I know you very well."

Kesler Murada, a doctor who has seen more patients than a Hutt has rolls of fat, does not recognize her however.

Bol looks around for a table and motions for the Chadra to follow him. He sits down at the table and points at a chair for the little guy.

"What do you need? More importantly, how can you help me?"

OOC:
Would like for Bol to get a table and sit where he can still see the doctor while talking to the little fella.

Bol leads the little alien to a table where it takes a seat after Bol does. He produces a deck of playing cards from within his meager clothes. Looking up at Bol with its beady eyes, it says, "Question ask."

[sblock=OOC]Ack, the auto login thing didn't work and I couldn't remember my password. I'm also apparently unable to get e-mail from the site now. Oh well, I finally remembered my password.

In response to your post, shadow; I wonder if my overanalyzing things has anything to do with why I also seem to do things really slowly when they require thought. Well I'll just blame ADD for the moment. :p
[/sblock]

A slight shiver passes through Kesler at her touch. "Well... you have me at a disadvantage then. If I don't know you.... Or how you know me." he says quietly in Huttese. "Who is she, why can't I remember her?" he thinks. He is completely unaware of both Bol and the Chadra-Fan's little card game, having directed pretty much all of his attention to the Twi-Lek.

OOC: By the way, what color is she and is it an uncommon one? Knowledge (Aliens) +10 (4 ranks, Int +3, Research +3) Heh, that’s a pretty weird question isn't it? Well, I'm very confused and Kesler couldn't Sense the Motive of a Rancor, so I might as well use the skill I have to learn something.
