D&D 5E Paladin Predictions

I think the Avenger style is already covered in Oath of Vengeance. I could see a more healing oriented sub class though. Perhaps Oath of Mercy. Some of the other older ideas for paladins brought back could be the demon slayer style from Knight of the Chalice. I would also enjoy seeing a kind of inquisitor paladin who seeks out corruption, possibly a mix of paladin and bounty hunter. Inquisitors could have powers more along the lines of zone of truth or true seeing. Maybe expand their detection to include detect lies. Dabbling in the arcane area, a mage slayer would be pretty interesting too. Paladins who deal with arcane magic users who have been tempted by power. Dragon Slayer seems to pop up every now and again too, along with undead slayer. Really though, any type of slayer could be covered under Vengeance though.

Well, we have four oaths so far: crown (knight), devotion (also knight), ancients (fey), and oathbreaker (evil). So I doubt we'll get another knight type variant. Witch hunter seems possible. Possibly a hybrid witch/undead hunter. Maybe a version that specializes in mounted combat (like a BM ranger)

Five: Vengeance.

Ah! I forgot about the DMG

Vengeance is in the PHB. Oathbreaker is the one from the DMG I believe. Oathbreaker was meant to be more of a villain than a player option. Though you can still play it if your DM allows it.

I've been wrong so far, but here goes anyways. Hospitalizer, Holy Liberator, Quester. An Egyptian style on would be cool, but I doubt it. I doubt witchunter will be in because oddly its hard to beat Oath of Ancients at fighting mages.

An Inquistor focused on heretics, maybe, not one I'd choose, but I could see it.

I think we may see a Hospitalier knight like subclass. One that is focused more on some healing. I also think that the witch hunter may have some legs as well. I guess we will have to see.

So like monk, the paladin is going to be another two new subclass options class, because the current options cover a lot.

Healing is highly possible, but for the second... not sure. An inquisitor or mage-hunter paladin could be an option, maybe in a form of sort of oath of magic, who stands to promote beneficial uses of magic, while hunting down darker practitioners? Why a milder variant than a full i hunt arcanists option? Because WoTC tends to be squeamish about evil or too questionable divine options and FR, their main setting tends to be pro-magic. ALso the grim bringer of justice stuff is already covered by oath of vengeance (and you can build a pretty effective mage hunter with it)
