Paladins and alignment

I would hope that Paladins still have some type of code but that is just flavour and does not need any mechanic, otherwise bring back the Cavilier we need our Chivalry

Problem with Fallen Paladins... If your referring to what I think you are, is they loose their powers. With this, still got it and are still Paladins, just one without a code.

I've actually never played RttToEE, just always proffered these type of Paladin PCs... Which is especially true given so many ordinary Paladins in the worlds I play are very Inquisition-esque. :P
 

A Paladin can be fallen but still have the backing of their god, the Paladin may think their god had abandoned them but they really haven't and give paladins the opertunity(sp) to find themselves

the 3E fallen or ex paladin or paladin who has violated their gods beliefs is another thing entirely

and if your a Paladin who follows their own beliefs then they are a knight ;)

Or the paladin that never had strong convictions, but the god bequests him with powers because there aren't all that many people running around with epic destinies so the god had to take what he could get... Nothing like a deity storming around the heavens shouting, "He did what? Again? In my name? $#*@!!!!"

Because I don't feel like making prestige classes (or buying them) for every god.

That's the entire reason the class exists, to serve as the champions of Lawful Good. You get rid of that, why bother keeping the class.

Because people like the "holy warrior" concept, especially since there's a focus on clerics being a bit more like ranged/cloth casters in 4E.

This is a good change, for reasons other posters have already pointed out.
