[Round 3]

Weapon lobs his second vial of alchemist's fire at the swarm around Mordin. The vial lands on target, but splashes the dwarf a little bit. The bugs scatter as more of their number are burned. All the rest skitter away into the darkness or under rocks and ruins.

[sblock=ooc]Good call there, forgot that it did residual damage. Swarms also take 50% more damage from splash weapons and area effects.

Weapon inspects his plating, picking out a few bugs. He then make his ponderous way over to the slightly singed dwarf. Brushing him off, the construct adds, "Apologies for the fire; the action was necessary and you have survived. Perhaps healing is available from the others."

Mordin groans and staggers to a sitting position as he starts plucking charred bugs off of his tattered clothing. "Just bugs. That's all. They be just bugs."

He looks down the tunnel, towards the rest of the group. "Lass, ye talk to spirits. Do they be giving you healing powers as well?"

"The spirits provide all that is needed to defeat our unnatural foes and find the schema we seek. Unfortunately, they do not also provide additional power beyond that to deal with the results of burning their children when such a battle could have been easily avoided," Siobhan bows her head, "Perhaps some day I will show my faith and resolve and the spirits will bless me with greater gifts, but not today."

Weapon seems to have missed the insult, but instead pats Mordin lightly on the shoulder. "Unfortunate, but such is the messy business of existence. Stay in the middle with the others where you are tactically the safest." The warforged looks up at the shifter brother. "The battle is done. You may return and lead us again."

"A battle we could have avoided? Lass, ye be more'n daft" Mordin just looks at the eccentric shifter. "An' what makes ye think that they would let us climb the ropes in peace? Hungry little critters like these," he holds up a charred insect, flicking its wings with his thumb. "would have chased us right up the tunnel. If your spirits tell ye that hungry vermin are the innocents and we be the villains... then your spirits are dumber'n rocks an' slightly more intelligent than ye be."

The dwarf snorts in disgust and stands unsteadily. The bites from the swarm as well as the burns from the alchemist fire have clearly taken their toll on him.

"If we be doin' this job together, then do the job. Don' be making kissy-faces at people when they try to kill us and help out."

Ahki moves back to his place in line, picking off a few beetles still clinging to his arms. As Siobhan speaks of how the battle could have been avoided he holds up one of the still wiggling beetles. "All things thrive on struggle, from beetles to men. The ones that survive will be stronger for it. The ones that don't..." He crushes the beetle in his fist with a grim smile on his face.

"Lads, I would suggest to move. I don't want to wait for more of these bugs. Do someone have a torch to lend me, so next time, I might do something usefull if they come back? And Siobhan, I respect your value of life, but Mordin have a point, we can't avoid every combat. The Lords of Blade isn't the kind to talk, and he proved it twice. Thos bugs are mindless and were hungry and wouldn't listen... I just son't want to see one of us falling because somone else didn't do what he could to save him." tells the dwarf to the shifter. He turns his attention back to Weapon. "So, do you have a torch for me?"

The warforged reaches into his pack and pulls out a bundle of torches. He hands one to the artificer, and then offers one to the others.

[sblock=OOC]I have enough go around. Let me know who takes any.[/SBLOCK]
