Part 1: The Forgotten Forge (Knight Otu judging) [Concluded]

[SBLOCK=OOC]Don't know if Siobhan is just RPing it, and Weapon wouldn't know this (know Knowledge: Nature), but most swarms either fly or have climb speeds and anyone with some ranks in Know: Nat should know that...[/SBLOCK]

Weapon watches in mute resignation as that wall of vermin approaches, and the thought crosses his mind that given enough time, they could even eat through him.

Insects---the tool of entropy.

Seeing the others suddenly turn to run, a crestfallen Weapon states as the bugs start to swarm around him, "I understand, companions. While you can escape by running, I cannot as I am not constructed that way. Do look after Kharas, as his legs make it more difficult for him to walk. After the vermin have sated themselves on me, you may return..."

[SBLOCK=Actions]If the bugs are already swarming around Weapon, he will take a swipe with his torch (1d20+1=19, 1d3=1 damage) and then move out of the swarm area. If they are yet to come upon him, he will take out a flask of alchemist fire and throw it at the heaviest concentration (1d20+3=16 ranged touch, 1d6*1.5=6 damage + 50%).

Invisible Castle is down right now, so I used the Wizards Dice roller. You/I can re-roll them if you wish later.[/sblock]

ooc: and you've got to have a really good arm to throw it 60ft.
[SBLOCK=OOC]True, but by the time we get around to Weapon, those insect buggers would already have had a double move...[/SBLOCK]

Ahki's eyes widen as the mass of clattering insects crawl out of the darkness towards them. He takes an involuntary step back before remembering his bluster about retreating. Instead he hastily thrusts an arm into his pack in search of the flask he purchased from a vendor who claimed it was like bottled dragons breath. Drawing out the glass bottle, he shakes it experimentally and readies himself against their approach.

[sblock=OOC] Hence my comment about the torches earlier. ;)[/sblock]

Mordin will curse softly as the bugs chitter into view. No good deed goes unpunished.

"We canna leave him t' die. Light the torches!"

[Surprise Round]

Stulgar readies himself to lob a vial of alchemist's fire when the bugs close.

Siobhan moves back to the alcove and has a hand on the rope to start climbing.

The carpet of beetles continues to swarm towards the party. Stulgar judges that he might be able to hit them now and lobs his vial. The vial splashes in amongst the swarm burning many of them. The bugs are still a good 20 feet from Stulgar and Weapon.

[Round 1]

Weapon lobs his alchemist's fire at the same group that Stulgar hit. The vial splashes amongst the beetles burning several more of them.

Kharas moves back from the front lines to join Siobhan at the bottom of the rope.

Akhi's shot is not as well aimed and misses the heavily damaged swarm, but manages to bounce into the second swarm burning some of the insects.

Mordin lights a torch.

Siobhan starts up the rope (? you can change this if you want)

The insects swarm over Stulgar, Weapon, Akhi, and Mordin. All of whom feel the sting of tiny mandibles crawling over their skin, biting, and tearing.

[sblock=ooc]Siobhan and Kharas can redo their actions seeing how the others all chose to wait. If they do, they will be subject to the swarm as well. Those in swarms must make Fort Saves or be nauseated for 1 round.

Damage Recap:
Stulgar 3
Weapon 2
Akhi 4
Mordin 2
Bugs 1 12/14 Bugs 2 6/14
