Part 1: The Forgotten Forge (Knight Otu judging) [Concluded]

"I've been seacrhing up to the mouth, to teh risk of being bitten by them. Sure I have tried everything." replies the dwarf. "And I doubt they will stay there for us to shoot. And once we attack them, I doubt the book will help us."

"Brother could be right. If so, the information may even have appeared in the book," Siobhan suggests, "As to whether they will stay still--it doesn't matter. We can lower our archer down incompletely with the rope such that he or she is out of reach but can still shoot the dogs anywhere inside."

"For the book, it was the first thing I've done when I was down there. With all these shelves and rubble, there is enough hiding place for the archer to be innefective. It might weaken them, but I doubt we will be able to kill them... also, it's dark down there. You'll need to throw some light if you want to see."

"You spoke about an archer, I didn't know I was the one you spoke about. I thought you were speaking of your brother. I have a crossbow, which mean I would be a crossbowmen. But as I told, they just need to hide behind a shelf and the only thing I could do is waste my bolt. Do we have some rope? I think trying to bind them might be a solution. They might not considered being attack and we might render them helpless" replies the dwarf.

"They are mechanical creatures. They probably just have a set of instructions from their creator about attacking intruders. Unlike a real animal, which would hide in the bushes or take the higher ground, this creature has no instincts to use the terrain to its advantage."

"What? You think these creature will stand there and let themselves killed? Get out of your world of spirit. I know enough to tell you if an homonculus of any kind is stupid enough to let themselves killed, they wouldn't be mass produce, and that have been mass produce. Come on! Give more credit to the house who create the warforged." replies the dwarf. "Presently, they are on watch mode, if they have to enter the combat mode, we have to be prepared and not give them the advantage. If we had difficulty with a few coackroach, someone can get killed with these if we do something stupid."

"Being souless doesn't mean being stupid. There is way to simulate intelligence with magic. Have you ever seen an homonculus. Many artificer have one. My father have one to help him with his trapmaking work. The creature is just as bright as the average person you meet in the street. Warforged are a summun in creation as it isn't not only a construct, but also a living creature. Constructs are animated metal (or any other non-living material), some mindless likes golem, some bright like an homonculus. Warforged are living creature, creation of life through magic. Before house Cannith, only the gods had done that, all the others before them had created magical animated statue (it's a bit more complicated than that, but that's the spirit of the thing). These iron guardians looks like dogs, and I wouldn't be suprised his creators have given the mind of a watch dog. They must think there master is the owner of the book. I cannot tell how they would have be trained, but I doubt they will be happy to see a bunch of people coming in there territory." explain Kharas.
