Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I've got two cats and we have an elderly stray who we take care of (who unfortunately pees and marks the house if we let him inside, so outside he stays), and yeah, that makes a big difference.

Hoping to move into a long-term space where I can have a big fish tank again, which always lowers my BP.
I e have dogs bird and lizards now. Always cats before…may have to complete the zoo.

My cat was my best friend growing up. He lived to 18 and I still miss him!

My folks have cats now and always a stray or neighboring outside cat that comes for attention and extra food…

Cats are fantastic

I'm pretty lucky in terms of low key mental health things.

I live within walking distance of work. So I walk to and from every day, weather permitting. It's very good for mental health. Helps that a lot fo that walk is through green space/a pleasant university campus.

Also hit the gym a few days a week. When you're busy sweating, swearing, and hurting it really takes your mind off other stuff for a bit.

And cats. Cats are awesome. I'd like to say unconditional love and no judgement, but thats dogs. Who are also great. Just not as cool as cats.

And my partner. What to say? She's lovely. We look after one another.

Thanks everyone for good thoughts/vibes, mostly I was tongue-in-cheek but it has been a rough day which maybe accounts for the gallows humor a bit. Life's not easy for a trans gal when they work in a library on a college campus and campus has to allow some students to form a student club whose raison d'etre is "muh biology!" and said student club turns out to have found a staff advisor and said advisor is a co-worker whose desk is right behind said trans gal's.

Ouch. Sounds like it's time to have a conversation with your supervisor - not necessarily to file a grievance, but at least get the issue on someone's radar.

I can't even imagine how difficult that must be. From the way you framed the situation it sounds like this came as a surprise. I know we all have to buckle up right now, but you are the tip of the spear, so to speak. I wish I could take your place because that ish is straight up exhausting.

Even though I cannot do it in person, you have my support.
