Humans are social creatures. In my solo RPG FB group, we share journal excerpts and pictures of our solo sessions. We are alone together. In other areas of life, it has struck me that (A) is the most true. Sometimes it's because of limited time but oh, so often not wanting to do something for yourself is just laziness. As one of the founders of a motorcycle street riding group you might be shocked at how many people simply didn't want go out and ride on their own, because then they would have to figure out where to go for themselves. I tried posting maps. Two of my friends and I tried keeping our personal rides private, only to have literally 30+ bikes show up. It was frustrating, to say the least.
And I get that, but then there were the complaints afterwards.Humans are social creatures. In my solo RPG FB group, we share journal excerpts and pictures of our solo sessions. We are alone together.![]()
Uh ... Complaints about the ride people explicitly weren't invited along on?And I get that, but then there were the complaints afterwards.
People learn that complaining is participation. And I get that, but then there were the complaints afterwards.
Me: "Why are you complaining, Bob? You weren't even there!"People learn that complaining is participation.
Wow. I would walk immediately. How atrocious.Maybe I'm just old-fashioned, but hoo boy. I don't think I could take more than ten minutes of that.
The worst part for me: when he used AI to interpret the 15 Investigation check for him.
Indeed. On one occasion I was going to lead a couple of ladyfriends on a ride, through some rural roads I knew they had never been on. One of these women had only been riding for about a year but I could already tell she had natural talent and I had suggested she go amateur racing. The other had years of experience. Some of my favourite roads, that I pretty much kept to myself. As they were in farm country there were a fair number of straight roads, that I connected via a series of twisties to have some fun.Uh ... Complaints about the ride people explicitly weren't invited along on?
It is one of those weird but true kind of thingsMe: "Why are you complaining, Bob? You weren't even there!"
Bob: "I just want to feel included, okay?"
