Are we sure that thread isn't all one big elaborate April Fools prank that broke out of containment?I'm wondering if that thread has enough oomph to catch this one. At the rate its been going could be next week...

And in other news, i now have a new entry for my "random cargo" list.a whole ton of slightly damp babies
Sandbox vs. Railroad? I guess I don't understand the assignment. I'm here to hang out with my friends.
Those are solid learning outcomes but I'd argue that there's a third category to identify, which are the people who are convinced that they are objectively correct that they are genuine and sincere enough to not be bad-faith trolls but also clearly aren't interested in learning new things or being in any way persuaded from their point of view.Very broadly, your assignment is to find the way to delete the most offensive material from your feed with the minimal number of people on your ignore list.
The sandbox vs railroad threads (of which there are many) is a very detailed exercise in this assignment. It's specific lesson is to identify the people who genuinely want to discuss and learn about game design but occasionally fumble in communication, and separate them from the trolls who intentionally use disingenuous rhetoric but have learned how to do so in a way that is polite and eloquent enough for them to constantly stay clear of moderator action.
Yeah, the "I can't play in X setting because I have to look at a wiki that's more complete than any RPG setting book and then combine that with one of dozens of widely available rulesets" complaint is weird to me.--
Not related to that thread, or that one, or even THAT one.
Folks we live in the Golden Age of RPGs.
Multiple systems are available with license options.
Free tools exist from word processor to image Manipulation.
Platforms exist to upload for free.
The takeaway?
You, yes, the actual you, could be creating the content you wish to see.

Even if "get it out there" is just to the people at your table. You don't need to publish anything any further or more than that. I mean, if you want to, do, but you don't need to, to use and enjoy the material.I mean all of it at this point. I'm ready to put my head through a wall over my work situation, and its honestly not even the most stressful of issues in my life currently.
Instead of folks fighting here (unless thats the goal...which I think it actually is, but anyway....) just...sit back and write up the content you want, and get it out there.
Spark Joy.
