Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

The brown gravy- which I personally the way I prefer it*- is a nod to its (probable) Germanic roots in the dish schnitzel. While brown and mushroom gravies aren’t the ONLY toppings you’d find on schnitzel, they’re among the more common.

* If I can’t get my chicken/country fried steak with brown or mushroom gravy, I’ll opt for no gravy + some lemon wedges.
It’s kind of cool how so many different cultures and cuisines out there have agreed that breading and deep frying a piece of meat is really damn delicious. Chicken Fried Steak, Milanese, Milanesa, Schnitzel, Katsu - I think almost everywhere has some variation on this dish.

Not really worth a separate thread, but I'm curious, and figure I'll post my idle question to the fine people riding the Pineapple Express.

What are your views and practices regarding editing your own posts, after you post them, on EN World?

I will frequently correct typos if I discover them right after posting. I don't know why I seem unable to edit before I post. It feels weird, but I've edit posts I've made months or even years ago if I happen to come across them again and notice a typo. I don't bother making an end note that I've done so.

If I make a substantive change, especially if do to a change of mind on a particular topic, then I will make a note that I changed it.

I like how some other forum platforms will, when you edit a post, present you with a field explaining the reason for the edit. EN World doesn't do this and I always feel like I'm committing a venial sin when I edit after posting. :)
Same as you, but I do not feel an EDIT note is necessary when fixing sentence structure and spelling, otherwise I may as well leave that EDIT note in a signature as I do it so often.

I'm generally pro-Denny's. Adding liquor to it is an acknowledgement of who's going there after dark and a smart business move.
I'm of two minds about this. I can't deny the truthiness, but OTOH when I've ended up at a Denny's it's normally late and often specifically to sober up.

I quite like the burgers at Five Guys, and the fries and hot dogs are also very good. And, hey, free peanuts while you wait!
Agreed. When I discovered them (getting out of a couple hours of traffic having flown into DC on a Friday afternoon, on my way to Virginia for a Warhammer Grand Tournament) they felt like a revelation, and while they've come down quite a bit from that divine experience, they're still probably my favorite fast food burger.

I know the feeling. I haven't had what I would call good lobster since I was a kid visiting family, on Cape Breton Island. One of my uncles owned a lobster wharf and the boilers were just down the hill from their house.
Here in New England I can still get fresh lobsters at Market Basket (I think they're $8.99/lb right now) and they'll boil them for me at no extra charge if I don't feel like doing so at home.

I’ve never had an enjoyable waffle fry.🤷🏾‍♂️
I almost said "same", but then I remembered the house-made ones Wolf & Workman in Montreal used to serve with their steak tartare when I was there with friends a couple of years ago to see Rammstein. Super crispy and seasoned and perfect vehicles for the steak mix.

I tried In-N-Out when I visited my sister in CA a couple of years ago. They were fine. I remember it all being a bit bland, but fresh, and the fries not as crispy as I'd have liked. And yes, the lines were long but at least they moved pretty quickly. We went to one off the highway on our drive up to King's Canyon to see the Giant Forest.

I guess I'll be the unremitting heathen here. I quite like the Royal Red Robin burger at Red Robin. The egg on top elevates what would otherwise be a regular burger!

Yeah, I'm sort of the same. I remember how people hyped In-N-Out, but when one finally opened in my city in Texas, I was pretty "meh" about it. It was fine, i suppose, but the way I do a basic burger at home is nearly as fast, and has a lot more flavor and character. Plus, I don't have to wear pants* at home.

* Although, to be fair, wearing pants is a generally a Very Good Idea™ when grilling.
