I don't mind the auto following, but when i log in and see 17 notifications and it's just reacts from one person....One of the best things that I did was turn off reaction notifications and auto following threads.
I find discord not as user friendly for reading back or posting specific threads in a clear way. Plus discord is constantly trying to push add-ons and upgrades. Annoying AF. I do use it for some specific D&D campaigns but anywhere beyond a handful of people for a very focused use make it unbearable to use in my experience.Hmm, my discords are mostly smaller focused places. Though, I know huge ones exist and having a discussion in one of those is nearly impossible.
Yeah im in a few that are like 5-10 people, and few others that are like 50-100 people, and then one or two that are in the thousands. The first two its pretty easy to have discussions and follow along. Feels pretty organic and community oriented. The third one is more like reddit. Good to get a question answered, maybe get some info, but not a place where meaningful discussion happens.I find discord not as user friendly for reading back or posting specific threads in a clear way. For a smaller site, you might try The Piazza. Mostly focused on D&D, less posts than here, and they have a small number of specialty sub-boards that are also lightly trafficked. And there isn't the sort of overall jerkiness you find on some other boards...I find discord not as user friendly for reading back or posting specific threads in a clear way.
