I'm at the local diner in my new neighborhood, and I'm having the "Agent Cooper" special for breakfast (slice of pie, heated, and a cup of coffee, black.)

Damn fine.

I still regret not going to Twede's Cafe, the place that served as the Double R Diner, when I was a whole 5 miles away from the place at Snoqualmie Falls (the waterfall in the opening credits).

My favorite is when you get a million likes from one person in a single thread, and you look and the thread is like three years old.

Usually it's due to a necro but sometimes it's just very strange
That’s usually a solid reminder to me of how funny I actually am.

I’ll get all these alerts, and I’m thinking I made some kind of killer commentary or salient point that has stood the test of time. So I’ll go check it out.

Nope. Spit takes.

There have been times where someone necroed a thread and the months the posts happened were close so at a glance I missed the different year and proceeded to treat it like a new thread until I finally noticed the dates.

I guess what I am trying to say is a lot of conversations are evergreen (good or bad) and the timeframe they happened doesn't add any context.

I often wonder, how people can so plainly miss the point of a given piece of work, or just dramatically misunderstand what is going on right in front of them.

The first time I watched the movie Fight Club it was with a friend who would not shut up about how great it was. He basically spent the whole movie pointing out all his favorite parts, which were mostly things related to the fighting so completely distracting from everything else that's going on. Needless to say I hated the movie and it wasn't until a couple years later that another friend told me to give it another watch by myself that I got what the movie was actually about.

I haven't been friends with the first friend in probably 20 years. Definitely one of those high school friends that you look at one day and ask yourself "how did we make it out of high school still speaking?" situations.

The biggest problem with necro'd threads is if you don't realize its one, you may be responding to a poster who's been gone for two years.
