-"Do you seriously want me to believe you were a regional manager at Sears when you were twelve?"
-"Why would I make up something so outrageously unbelievable if it wasn't true?"
-"... You know what? You're hired!"

Though in my country there are social security records that make this kind of lying impossible. There is a ledger out there with everybody's names on it, how many and which weeks you were employed and by who. Along other info like salary, position and even shifts. Of course there's also informal jobs that are under the table, but these being informal mean they don't count.

Edit: Fun fact, in my country all three of Sears, Radio Shack and Toys 'r us currently exist. However Blockbuster is truly gone for good.

A thought as I came back from dropping my son at work.

Rome was not built in a day. Incremental improvement over time with most things is not only the healthiest expectation to set for yourself, but accounts for potential set backs which obviously will happen.

Stoicism, one foot in front of the other, every day.

It's not surprising, though still disappointing, when you make a statement that you're sure is entirely innocuous (e.g. "If you stand outside when it's raining, you'll get wet"), and someone jumps in to not only nitpick on a point that doesn't actually speak to what you said, but is weirdly aggressive about it ("What a weird statement! Lot's of things cause wetness! Just because you can't imagine them doesn't mean that they're not damp!")

The pleasant surprise comes when other people actually jump in to tell that person with the chip on their shoulder that they're the crazy one.

Something like 10 months after promising to make a friend a leather Flat Cap I think that I've finally managed to figure out how to attach the cloth liner for sewing, by switching the spray glue I've been using for Liquid Stitch. All that it took was giving myself another project I want to get done soon, a holster and belt for my Colt 1861 Navy, as motivation. "No new projects until the hat is done."

Oh. I should have seen it earlier. You're just a partisan for your game of choice. You're not discussing things in good faith, you're just arguing that your preference is better regardless of the facts. Noted and ignored.
I can't stand people like that. It's why I'm so glad that Hero System 6th Edition is so good -- it's objectively better than all the others. No opinions required!
