Yeah. I try to go with italics. Feels less intrusive but still gets the word that I want to stress across.

At least to me.

I once read a brief that had so much use of italics, underline, bold, and all three combined for emphasis, that it was nearly impossible to read.

Then again, based on the court's response, I don't think the court did.
