I think that particular subgenre works best when "The Incorrect Dude" has some form of higher education in a completely unrelated field and thinks that makes him an expert on the field under discussion. No, your degree in English Literature doesn't trump my diploma and almost 40 years of industry knowledge.
That would qualify them to be a senator.
 


It really is the dumbest timeline. I dont know how we get to 2029 at this point.

I love the subgenre where they’re beefing/disagreeing with someone known to have actual experience & knowledge.

There was one I first saw several years ago where “The Incorrect Dude” told the other poster to read some particular books. The person he was “correcting” had authored those books.
My favorite subgenre is when "The Incorrect Dude" is trying to make a point where the facts point to the literal exact opposite of their point. "Dork ass losers" is probably the most famous example of the art form:

A popular one is engineers who think they understand medicine more than biologists or even doctors.
