Back when we would have time in life to play poker and make pina coladas, we finally settled on banana Cruzan, vanilla or coconut Bacardi, ice, vanilla ice cream, and Bacardi frozen pina colada mix. The hardest part at the time was finding an affordable home blender that would obliterate the ice well. None of us knew anything about rum, so would not be surprised if there are much better choices out there.

Torani is a good brand. Five stars, would recommend.

My favorite for Italian sodas:

Here's a trick that bartenders all know, but others might not:

If you have a recipe that calls for fruit pureé (like a Bellini or a Daiquiri), just use baby food. Ready to use, super-smooth, 100% fruit, and the portion size is perfect--almost no waste. One jar will make about 4 cocktails, and costs about $2 or $3.

I admit, it does feel a little bit weird, mixing rum and baby food. But I get over it after about the third or fourth daiquiri.

I always thought it would be better if tags could be added/upvoted/whatever by posters rather than just the OP. It would give a much better description of a thread, especially as it continues and tropics drift.
Some threads drift with in two or three post after the OP, or they quickly get abandoned by the OP because the OP just wanted to make a blog post and didn't feel like creating an actual blog.

If you've been sitting on something for nearly half a year you do not get to come in and claim you do not understand today. Thats not how this works in the real world my friend and its going to end poorly for you.

"Explain it like I'm five." is for the memes on Reddit or Twitter, in reality its going to end with you being fired, idiot.

Cruzan is actually pretty popular with bartenders, especially when blending it with other rums, like in a mai tai.
