That poor thread is swarming with people who created accounts years ago, but never posted more than a half-dozen times since. Now they're all over it, buzzing and angry. Did someone kick a Lurker Wasp nest or something?

I think lurking is pretty common. Most of my friends in my gaming groups in real life, with a couple of exceptions, don't post in online forums seem to have accounts they almost never use

I go into hibernation on discussion forums when life gets busy. There have been chunks of time when I would only come to ENWorld to skim the news posts or to search for a discussion other were having on the rules.
But then someone disparages pineapple on pizza. There are times in life where you can't remain silent. ;-)
