Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Today I was shocked--nay, horrified, to learn that Dungeons & Dragons is actually a commercial product. Did you know that? It's true! It's being created, then sold, in exchange for money, by a business, just so they can make money off of their customers! I mean, the nerve of these people! The audacity! Why can't they do like third-party publishers, and...

...oh.

Oh no.

As Mama Snarf always said, "Listen you up, boy. You need to look out for what matters, and that's me. Remember, there ain't no I in team but there's three in narcissistic. Now quit yer complainin' about not signin' that form to let you play sports, and get yer Mama a dime bag so she can use these past due notices as rollin' papers."

From the headline story at ESPN.

Except for the metric of Olympic medals where someone has 2 more Gold, 3 more Silver, and 2 more Bronze? And sure it was a different era back then, they only had world championships 1/3rd as often, making it hard to compete with someone with more chances to become "most decorated" for both those and the Olympics combined.

I'm not arguing with anyone who says she is the greatest. And it was certainly a different era in terms of how the sport is. But I am definately nominating this "by any metric" claim for the most inane thing on the Internet today.

Oh, there are more inane things on the internet today. We have rules against their inanity being discussed on this site, but they exist, regardless.

I mean, there are lots of things on the internet. But this claim was also in the headline:

and the article itself explains why it was wrong and just ignores that it did so:

But I am certainly not going to go look around for worse!

So maybe it was the indisputably most inane thing in the headline of a site American's would consider major (if I ignore whatever other horrible things are out there)?
