Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I think the things he's responding to will taper off once the books are out and everyone settles down.

When I wasn't playing either 4E or Pathfinder, I took a several year break, because listening to two sides argue about something that I didn't care about at all meant there was very little value in ENWorld for me.
Yes, the ability to cut yourself off of forums is salutary. A year ago I stopped going to old-school D&D forums. Removed a lot of unnecessary debating from my life.

You can tell the people who say they want story in their games don’t mean it when those same people argue like mad against rules that would push story in their games.

I expect so, too. Folks adapt to change, and move on, more or less. Sometimes more, sometimes less.

There is something healthy, I think, in taking a break occasionly until it isn't part of your thoughts, and then seeing if you have a good reason to go back to it.

There comes a time when you realize people are simply using a game differently than you do.

They are playing with a vastly different group with vastly different expectations.

And it’s cool! But our discussion has relatively little to do with the game itself anymore and one of us knows it…the other may still be contemplating…
