I drove through the NW from the coast to Wyoming, and yep. If I wanted to move to the US the amount of open space is vast, gorgeous territory especially near the mountains in Wyoming.

I'll know in a few years if I'm on track, or if I'm doomed to a life of servitude to Capitalism. ;)
I am doomed by my human attachments for now.

My wife would go to SD in a heartbeat…

But aging family etc…kids sports…

Maybe to retire though? I am so tired of people…it’s hard to put into words. I want to avoid angry and entitled behavior…crappy driving, crime, crowding. A lot of pop culture…

If I moved to some of these rural places id be like...

There's a lot of all of that, especially entitlement, in rural America, unfortunately. (Other than crowding, obviously.)

people are people

I just mean being at a distance from it is what I want.

Go be entitled “over there” all you want. So maybe crowding is a big part of it like u say.

My family takes “rural vacations” for the most part. No offense intended at all, but I would rather eat spiders than stand in line at Disney world or (fill in the blank).

Last vacay we went and stayed
On a farm with dozens of acres. Daily fire pits and the wide open. The kids loved it and I came back to work less angry.

Even played D&D with the kids on our last day there!

I dont know man, I'm just ready to sleep. I dont need 99% of what people think is 'important', just fire it all into the sun and leave me be.
Yeah man…I hear that. But sadly doing for the family really locks a person in.

By the time I pay for kids sports, pets, housing and transportation…

Ok and my miniatures…

my game hobby expenditures are kind of up there…damn. Hypocrisy!
