Thing is, you cannot avoid this now. Its not even worth the discussion, we arent going to turn back the tide.

You can't avoid it, but you can turn the tide if you don't give into the toxicity on either side of the aisle (and push back on ideas while treating people respectfully)

Its spitting into the wind man. After over half a decade of watching various communities tear themselves apart?

About 25 years, for me. The venue changes. The battle remains the same.

Eh. Maybe! I do think that things seem ... dour ... in many ways.

But I think that a lot of the toxicity is on-line, and in the media. Sure, some of it spreads to real life, and that sucks. But for the most part, I have found that if you need to stay positive, it really helps to do things in your local community.

Seriously. Go out. Volunteer. Help people. When you see that things aren't all bad, and that you can make a difference, you'll feel better.

I mean, that's what I hear. The other solution? Gin.

A lot? Man...if I could convince everyone around me to turn off the news, unplug, and go touch grass, you know how much happier they would be?

I can only deal with so much BS on a daily basis. I made a comment hell almost 9 months ago about how someone had utterly disappointed me. That situation is only now about to be resolved. After that, its on to the next one, but honestly people need to figure out that waves around all of this is just junk to distract us from what matters or that we cannot cope with at any given moment.

We are on a forum discussing Elf Games.
