Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

A certain person has decided to organize fans of his work to brigade otherwise-neutral gaming sites. I'm left wondering, how would I tell if they were able to do their business here? I mostly just keep to this thread -- they're unlikely to go here!
I expect you'd see people in this thread complaining obliquely about something that might eventually start to look like that sort of brigading. I stay out of the threads that's most likely to happen in, here, for game-preference reasons, but I haven't seen any reason to think it's happening.

Huh. Well, I've spotted a few accounts that have now raised my sus meter.

New accounts, long dormant accounts reactivated. Posts promoting that person's work regardless of the OP. Brigades are usually pretty brain-dead affairs. You get a dozen or so people all screaming along the same rough lines out of nowhere. They get ban-hammered, we LOL, and move on.

Which really underscores how right it was to blackball him to begin with. He did some good work, back in the day; I used one of his works as the centerpiece of one of my most successful RPG experiences ever, before everything came home to roost for him. There were routes back to mainstream acceptance, starting with public apologies and pledges to change, along with visible proof of the same. America loves a reformed sinner and it wouldn't have been that hard to come back, with some sincere effort.

Instead, sitting and stewing and forming an echo chamber of the worst people and convincing himself that all of his problems are "those" people's fault -- which is comically untrue, given what he was banished over -- well, OK, thanks for proving all of us right.

Note to self: Remember to stay off ENWorld when you're in a bad mood and opening any thread feels like this

And my immediate impulse is to just post this and leave:

I think I'll see you all next year. . .

Hope your holidays are uneventful.

I'd love for ENWorld to have a feature where you can start a new thread that is auto-locked (no one can comment - not even you!) and it gets bumped from likes.

Oh wait. That's just a blog. :sneaky:
My next new thread, "Isn't It Time to Uncancel Certain Unjustly Accused Creators?", is practically guaranteed to auto-lock almost instantly, if it makes you feel better.
