I know it's the point of the thread... But I always feel a little left out.. Either I'm not active enough to see the problem threads, or I'm oblivious.. Likely a bit a both.. But I often feel like I'm on the outside of an inside joke. :/

Regardless.. We purchased supplies to make homemade pizza again this week.. Not Hawaiian though. Ham, feta, and banana pepper for my half.. Will probably make it tomorrow

I don't pay enough attention to even have a good sense more than about one time in twenty. That's ... part of the point, if not the whole point.

That sounds like a plausible pizza combination, nothing inherently not-food, good job, well done.

Do you make your own sauce or are you using an off the shelf one?

My folks are visiting and, for the first time, got to have my homemade lasagna with the red sauce (made earlier) I developed over a six month period. It was very gratifying to knock their socks off.

Just store bought..

I've never tried making my own pizza sauce.. but I do like making red sauce. I wonder how different they are. I could always try making some and hitting it with the immersion blender.. Honestly, I bet pizza with a slightly chunky sauce wouldn't even be bad.

I'm glad your folks liked the lasagna. homemade sauce can take it to another level.

According to a former coworker who grew up in the restaurant biz, it's pretty common for restaurants historically to just have one main "house" red sauce they use for 99% of the dishes. I use our red sauce in stromboli and it's great.

It was for me as well, until I learned to eat only the good stuff.

An even better example of this is dragonfruit.

When I was traveling overseas a few years ago, I had local fresh dragonfruit every day. IT. WAS. AMAZING.

So when I got back to the US, I started buying it at the local supermarket. It was absolutely terrible. Almost tasteless.

I have never (NEVER) had a good dragonfruit in the US.
IDK if I’ve ever had good mango. They have only tasted average at best (relative to other fruits).

Ditto dragonfruit.

Explains spam.
Does it?
