As someone who spent years working with pronunciations, I can say you can go a long way in English pronunciation by making every single unstressed vowel a schwa. It's not perfect, but it's probably a reasonable first thing to try.Congratulations, you have discovered the schwa.
Whenever I look at something like this, I realize that if English was a programming language, I would be unable to write code in it, in any functional way. I simply do not know the actual rules, or components beyond a casual level.
