Well, actually, the npc in question was a big strapping farmguy and my character is a buff Chiss lightning sorceror named Chokey S'murf, so there wasn't a whole lot of jiggling going on...

Forget silent letters. I love INVISIBLE letters.

Or how all the vowels in "Connecticut" are pronounced as "i" except for the actual "i"... To us locals it's pronounced "Ki-NET-a-kit".
 






Whenever I look at something like this, I realize that if English was a programming language, I would be unable to write code in it, in any functional way. I simply do not know the actual rules, or components beyond a casual level.

I still remember a spelling test from primary school. I had learned the rule, "I before E, except after C."

The word?

Freighter.

Was I angry? Is this something that I still wake up screaming about? Am I reasonably certain that my first grade teacher was a bard?
