Given the number of CosPlayers who have followed suit, I don't think that anyone could overvalue the "cultural" impact of Princess Leia in a gold bikini.
To that, I will only reply that there are some socks that shouldn't be washed by your mom.

I don't remember what movie or book it's from but "And a sock that has more shame than a catholic school" is stuck in my headTo that, I will only reply that there are some socks that shouldn't be washed by your mom.
Yeah, a lot of y'all never had a childhood crush on Christina Ricci as Wednesday Addams and it showsSome of y'all have your "Leia in the gold bikini" moment, and hey--fair enough. Nothing but respect for General Leia.
But for some of us, there was:

It’s actually not painted. It’s a plastic cover that matches the paint of the finish. You can get covers like that in the aftermarket, but they’re not always going to be a close match. My god, that is one ugly guitar lol (apologies if anyone owns it but that color contrast is giving me a headache).
Thanks. I figured what you and @prabe said would be the case, but I have never seen a pickup painted over before (I suppose I may have and just didn't notice).
Actives have their benefits, buy I don’t like messing with the batteries. The thought of them corroding in my guitar givesOn active pickups @prabe, I had one guitar with them. I remember the guy on the floor really sold their advantages, and the guitar itself (which was a Schecter) was real nice. But I found them so glitchy (which was probably just those particular pickups) and the sound not quite to my liking, I went right back to passive.
You millenials are so CUTE I could just eat you up.Yeah, a lot of y'all never had a childhood crush on Christina Ricci as Wednesday Addams and it shows
Excuse you, I will have you know that I resemble that remarkYou millenials are so CUTE I could just eat you up.
And for good reason. She was, what, ELEVEN for the first movie?Yeah, a lot of y'all never had a childhood crush on Christina Ricci as Wednesday Addams and it shows
In my defense, so was I.And for good reason. She was, what, ELEVEN for the first movie?
Now, in Black Snake Moan she was in her mid-20s...
Right now I just have a little Ibanez (haven't taken the plastic cover off the pickups yet):It’s actually not painted. It’s a plastic cover that matches the paint of the finish. You can get covers like that in the aftermarket, but they’re not always going to be a close match.
But when you’re a company trying to do something special? You can spend some $$$ and make certain the paint & the pickup cover’s plastic are virtually identical shades. There was a high-end guitar company (whose site I haven’t visited in years) that did a couple of King Tut themed guitars. The pickup covers were virtually invisible against the gold & lapis Tut mask backgrounds.

Me nightmares. FWIW, it’s possible the glitch I was was a result of a bad batch of batteries in your case.
Technically, I don’t own any guitars with actives, but I DO have one with onboard batteries. It’s a Fernandes Ravelle Elite, and the batteries power its Sustainer system. (For the uninitiated, a sustainer system allows you to do things like hold a note without signal decay…as long as it has power.)
