I get what you're saying, but I'm not sure I completely agree.

DriveThrüberRPG delivers pizzas from almost every franchise, and sends it anywhere in the world. KrustStarter sends out new and exciting menu items every few months. And there are tons of folks on Calzone20 or FoundryPZA that would love to share a slice with you, no matter what you're serving up.

Pizza, in all it's varied and delicious forms, has never been more accessible IMO. Certainly not equal... Pizza of the Coast is the clear leader and industry standard. But pizza in general is definitely accessible.

I took the point @overgeeked was trying to make as being more about finding people to enjoy that pizza with you. There's a lot more options for how to eat your pineapple pizza these days, but if you happen to enjoy peanut butter and clams on your pizza, you might just have to go live in the sewers of NYC to find people with similar tastes. Dominos just doesn't have that on their menu and isn't going to add it anytime soon.

The problem is that its not just availability of the pizza, but people to eat it with that's the issue. And that's a much more complex question. (And of course the question of how many people overall really know about DTRPG and its equivalents).

The problem for some people is that remote play either is unattractive in the first place, or they're prone to running into hardware or time zone problems.
