Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

We'd still get people come in from New York, take a bite and tell us to our face "These are good, but not as good as NY bagels". I don't mind folks liking their local cuisine, but that kind of attitude just soured me for the rest of my life on new york food

I was born and raised in the NYC/Tri-state area. The reason why New Yorkers are like this is simple.

New York is a huge whirlpool of everyone else's cuisines. New York has very little cuisine that it can legitimately call its own. So, for a few items that they can - bagels, some forms of pizza, f'rex - New Yorkers are rabidly devoted to them.

I have a long relationship with the World of Greyhawk, I like it and it was my first campaign world I DMed in... But man, it embarrasses me the level of kvetching and moaning that comes from my fellow Greyhawkers when we finally get what we want, new Greyhawk material. Whatever, I am going to run my own version of Greyhawk. With Blackjack and Hookers. In fact forget Greyhawk.
