Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Honestly, I'm just happy they're apparently writing it all in advance.
Or at least outlining it so they know where they're going.
Other than the writing, I'm not sure there are any situations where the sequel trilogy wasn't hands-down better than the other two. (John Williams' music is great through all three and is probably a tie on that score.)
Yeah, but other than that, how did you like the play Mrs Lincoln?

I’ll just say to invite anyone interested to take a look at Simon Kinberg’s writing credits over on IMDB and they can decide for themselves if this bodes well for SW. 😇

Now if we could only harness that energy

Different topic that bugged me enough to type it out. I've jsut finished up book one called The Last World War of two books by Timothy Imholt and Michael Garst. The only problems I had with the book was you could clearly tell that the writers did very little to no reasearch and one phrase that jsut annoyed me ( "our stealthiest bombers").

So in the book the US is attacked with two nuclear weapons from Iran, that's fine with me the targets were a Lockheed-Martin factory in Texas and another donated in Detroit. Apparently there are no other factories/companies that could supply the US military.

Then the writers for whatever reason choose to go with the Green Berets instead of either the Navy Seals or Delta despite those two groups being better for the actual missions depicted in the book.

Going back to the nuclear weapons, they did no research on how long the fallout would last or anything related to it beyond radiation burns/sickness and the damage caused. They decided that an indefinite 15 mile quarantine zone would have to be put in place around the bomb zones.

Then during a combat sequence they had US pilots getting into close combat with the Iranian air force and losing because I guess we didn't train them and our aircraft suck? Then they ordered the pilots not to get into close combat and they start winning again lol. This is also putting aside that Iran also used nuclear weapons to take out three military targets in Israel including their nuclear weapons because they had them all in one place for some dumb reason. Then for some reason both Egypt and Syria with Iran going through Iraq (with no issues somehow) decided to invade Israel.

If it weren't for the fact that book was readable via kindle unlimited I would have been upset over paying for it. With all the above said, the editing/proof reading were good no errors in that department. And now to copy and past all that into the review.
Want to be a little less upset about that sort of thing? Try reading "Exxoneration" by Richard Rohmer, but keep in mind that it was written in 1976, during the '70s Energy Crisis. Rohmer is a retired Major General and still alive, at age 100.

OK, you might be a little upset when the US loses a battle, because arrogance. I read the airport invasion scene while working as a parking attendant in the parking structure above Terminal 1, which is where the Canadian forces set up their defence in the book. Pretty surreal.

Amusement from the emails this morning: Ken Whitman is apparently determined to make good on all of the Kickstarters he has failed to fulfill, as he has updated his Kickstarters. Well, I only went in on Spinward Traveller and the Knights of the Dinner Table Live Action Series, so those are the only updates I've seen. It's been literally ten years since they funded, I wonder what the motivation is to make updates. Some sick sense of amusement at the expense of the marks?

Given past performance I would say that he's likely out of money and looking to start another Kickstarter, so priming his marks.

I can excuse some things like the using Green Berets as stylistic choice or not knowing how things actually work but if your wanting to avoid an out right curb stomp battle at least try for something believable as to why.
EDIT: I'm mainly killing time waiting for the inter-library loan of Fox On the Rhine to arrive, some stuff on kindle unlimited is actually good and well thought out at least for alternate history and or military fiction that I've read so far and then there's stuff like what I just posted about.

It's kickstarters all the way down

If you pledge more than $50 you'll get on the VIP list and have first dibs on a slot on ANY of the pledge levels in the actual campaign.

I refer you to my pitch for "LongCon", "the convention about successfully running Kickstarters" which would be funded by its own Kickstarter, from a previous thread. My pitch would have involved panels with successful KS creators, events for making KS videos and pricing structures, etc. Sadly, there already is a LongCon, so I'll have to come up with another name.
