Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Yes, but there's a bit of a gap between, "The people who know the use case and accept the solution are not great at UX" and "Got taken to the cleaners".

And that's not even counting the possibility that they didn't get taken to the cleaners, but that there's a compromise going on that we aren't aware of.

LIke, again, for libraries, there was an app many used for distributing electronic media - epubs and audiobooks, mostly, called "OverDrive". And it was pretty good. Not that long ago, Overdrive was replaced by "Libby" from the same providers. Libby, when it shipped, was really not as good as OverDrive.

But, if you looked at some of the missing features, it seemed like they may have needed to make some changes due to rising use - that OverDrive was good, but didn't scale very well.
The thing about institutions upgrading their technology (and especially user software), it's always much worse until people start to learn how to use it. I haven't had any experience with this OverDrive but I can tell you that Libby has been a godsend for many of our patrons.

@Scribe

I said it in the other thread, but this too shall pass. Take a break for a while. See if you feel differently.

If you take a long break, and still want to do it, fine. But it's like the thing about writing the angry letter and putting it away instead of sending it. Take the break you need, and see how you feel afterwards.

I can always create something new if the community changes, but what I see I have no desire to be a part of and I dont take breaks well.

Like I wrote, ask a mod for a ban. Then you know you're on break.

Whatever is bugging you, it will pass. Again, I can tell you- this won't make you feel better. And you'll miss your old account.

If you've ever believed any thing I've said, it should be that bards should be eliminated. But if you believe two things, the next thing is that it is better to take a break- you will feel differently. And if you don't? The nuclear option is still there for ya.

My only problem with the switch to libby was one that was due to my lack of knowledge that being the limit of how many copies can go out lol

Every Library Science major I've ever met has been kind of a quiet badass, so ...

I think we are about done here.

To those I've had any positive interactions with, you've been appreciated. To those who didnt agree with me, thats fine too, and is the value, of a forum. To have different people from different places with different thoughts and experiences to potentially add a glimmer of a wrinkle to what one already thought.

I dont want to Ignore people. I want to discuss games, but its simple not great here.

So, farewell, play more Shadowdark. ;)
Cheers.
