Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Public service announcement: Some opinions are dumb and bad. You do not need to interrogate them at length, trying to figure out how they might actually be good opinions. Sometimes, they just aren't.

I suspect in at least some cases that's probably someone assuming they must be misunderstanding the other person in some way. Of course, its not all that uncommon for that to be true, but sometimes people really are expressing pretty bad takes.

Person A says they don't like pineapple, but do like anchovies. Then Person B claims that they don't understand how anyone could dislike pineapple and like anchovies, and repeatedly demands an explanation of how Person A could possibly justify disliking pineapple and liking anchovies, dismissing any explanation actually offered as insufficient.

It's very hard to believe that Person B's actual goal is understanding, and not simply trying to belittle Person A (and anyone else who might dare agree with their "wrong" opinion).

Also, who knew it would be super-stressful to be offered a job you'd be completely miserable in, but which would be financially transformational for your family? A lot of awful sleepless nights this week.

I, of course, do not know what is best for you or your family.

But misery isn't going to stop at the office. In some way, shape, or form it will leech into other aspects of your life. Most notably it is apt to impact your physical and psychological health and relationships with the family you are trying to support.
